Dipyridamole (DIP), a safe drug with favorable and broad pharmacological properties, inhibits EBV reactivation from B-cell lines!

It has safer pharmacological profile than antivirals like Valacyclovir with less side effects, titration with an initially lower dose of dipyridamole may be considered to reduce headache side effect and thereby increase compliance.

Dipyridamole potentiate some of the vascular protective effects of endothelium-derived nitric oxide (NO), which increases cGMP by stimulating soluble guanylyl cyclase. Endothelium-derived NO is an important regulator of vascular tone, blood flow, and tissue perfusion (connection with CCSVI?)
