Anybody try this? What were the results?
I don't think its approved yet for MS so I'm a bit surprised my neuro prescribed it for me.
It had to come from a compounding pharmacy but it was cheap enough - $43/mo + $3 postage.
Fampridine / Aminopyridine
Yes, I have been taking 20 mg per day, 10mg morning and 10mg evening for about 13months now. It helps with my walking, not a lot but every bit is good. Mine costs about $4 per day.
Acorda should get the up/down vote from fda in late Jan. If approved, it will be called some other name.
I started with half dose for 1 week.
How much were you precribed, 20mg or 25mg per day. Also, were do you get it for $43 per month. Mine is 120 per month.

Jim,
I am taking 10 mg 2x/day. How long did it take before you noticed any effects? I've taken it for 2 days and haven't noticed anything except being very tired, although that may not be related to the drugs.
Are you in the US? I am getting it from Inland Compounding Pharmacy in California. Phone # 909-478-3842. I know they do mail order because that is how I got it. They don't do insurance claims so I have to send a form to my insur co.
I wonder, if its approved by FDA, will I still be able to get it compounded or will I have to get the brand name from a regular pharmacy? If I do it will cost more!!!!

I'm not really sure of when it started helping me. In fact, at first I thought it was not really working. Well, now I really feel it is helping me.
I'm in NC and get it from Triangle Compounding. I am going to trying your place in CA.
It probably won't be covered by any insurance because it is not a drug yet. When it gets approved, Acorda will sell for $$$$ per year but then insurance companies should cover it.
Right now by getting it through a compounding pharmancy the cost is very low.
I'm not sure of availabilty after it gets approved.
