LDN during the day question

Post by Loobie »

I have tried to take this stuff at nite, but just don't get enough sleep, so I started taking it in the morning. Do any of you all take it in the AM? If so, does it make you feel weird? I also just quit smoking pot about 3 weeks ago after 15 or so years of nightly use and I suppose this could be that. But since I am still working and the LDN was keeping me up all night, I had to switch to daytime.

I feel a bit jumpy and I also feel very weird in my sinuses? I have no clue if this could be expected or not, but just wonder if anyone else who takes it at the daytime feels jumpy, or like you just don't know what to do with yourself.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry saw this late.

LDN will ~not~ work if you take it before 20:00 (assuming you go sleep before midnight). I will kick off around 2/2:30 and you will be fully awake - So if you have to work it is gonna be terrible... This kept going forever for me (well; a week) even I am retired and 'don't have to' wake up.
After a week (or about) I took Stilnox to get a reasonable night of sleep).
A month later and 4.5mg of LDN taken about 20:00 it was fine just like that.

It was beginning of 2008 so it is now close to 2 years I take it everyday since, and it helped me a lot.

(*) All this is ~my~ experience; you might react differently. You could check the yahoo group "lowdosenaltrexone" and find a wonderful lady named Aletha. She'll help as much as she can and forward you all you have to know.

Thanks Alg,
I talked to Skip the pharmacist and we have come up with a plan. I took it last night (still at 3mg) and everything went fine. It was funny. He knew just where I had read what I read and said "any more questions, just call me!" and I'm going to do that. Something about the other rhythms we have besides the circadian. He was saying "well are you feeling sick every afternoon?" and basically reading my mind. We got a plan, and after 1 day, it's worked. I'm at work and not feeling sick at all today.

It has always been my understanding that LDN should be taken in conjunction with your sleep cycle...

When my son first started taking it, he would take it an hour or so before he went to bed for the evening. As he matured (he was only 13 when diagnosed) he started taking it at the same time every evening (10:30 p.m.) even though his actually bed time could be as late (or early) as 4 a.m.!

When he goes out for the evening and is in a situation where he believes he might forget, he will go ahead and take it mid to late afternoon.

I used to argue with him about this all the time, but after so long of it, we came to the conclusion that for him, it really didn't matter what time he took it, as long as he took it!

Since he grew up and escaped me constantly looking over his shoulder, he's not overly specific with his dosage time - but he never misses a dose within a 24 hour period.

I hope you do as well on LDN as he has for the past 6 years.
