My 16 year old son and I became OBSESSED with this. 30 minutes later we figured out the math. It's all multiples of 9, the same "gift" will be seen on 9, 18, 27, 36, etc..., as all the numbers you choose and subtract per instructions, will equal a multiple of 9. That was fun!!!
