Hi
Our 21 yr old daughter was Dx with MS 2.5 years ago. She just started CA EAP injections. My husband & I are both RNs. I am very interested in alternative treatments & preventative medicine. Our daughter has no internet right now so in our effort to help her heal, I am trying to connect with others.
Thanks to you all for sharing.

Hi Candy, and welcome! Yes, you'll definitely find posts about all kinds of alternative and preventative approaches here. I hope you've found the main Board Index, where you can wander through the many different forums here.drcpr wrote:Hi

I do have to say I'm completely unfamiliar with the term "CA EAP injections" so I hope you'll post a good link for me to familiarize myself with it. I guess I came up with my own personal approach about 20 years ago, when I determined that my only hope to live in my increasingly wayward body was to develop a healthy lifestyle in order to adapt to it - a super healthy diet, regular, strenuous exercise (of my brain, body, & my sense of humor ), plenty of sleep, and, for me, lots of music. It worked so well (for me, anyway) that my diagnosis 8 years ago was a complete surprise.
I seem to have nasty reactions to meds & even supplements & vitamins, so I use very little of those. Keep us posted on how your daughter is doing. Sending healing thoughts to everyone today!
Dx'd with MS & HNPP (hereditary peripheral neuropathy) 7/03 but must have had MS for 30 yrs before that. I've never taken meds for MS except 1 yr experiment on LDN. (I found diet, exercise, sleep, humor, music help me the most.)

Re: New here
Welcome to ThisIsMS, Candy. As euphoniaa stated, you will find many, diverse topics have been addressed here in the Board Index. One alternative approach I currently think has merit is Diet, especially the diet proposed by Dr. Terry Wahls (http://www.TerryWahls.org).
We are glad you have found us.

Re: New here
Dr. Swank has a diet designed to treat MS. He studied MS and was successful in treating it for over 50 years. I do not know if your daugther has amalgam fillings but mercury has been linked to MS. Stay away from vaccinations which have mercury in them. Drugs have not shown to be effective in treating MS. There are detoxification programs which help to get the mercury out of the body. Good Luck.
