New and scared.

Post by KeepSmyelin »

Hi. My name is Kimberly, and I was just diagnosed with MS. About three weeks ago, I woke up & couldn't see from my right eye. I went to the eye doctor, who thought I had some swelling in my eye, but told me it was nothing to worry about and sent me home with contacts and a return appointment in one week. A week later life, my vision was worse so he sent me to a retina specialist. After dozens of tests, I was told I had nothing wrong with my eye and that I needed an MRI just to "rule out" anything, however, he felt I was okay. My scans showed multiple brain lesions as well as one cervical lesion. My spinal MRI also showed multiple atypical hemangiomas, as well, so not only do I have to worry about MS, I'm scared I have cancer or something crazy wrong with me. I'm only 31. I feel so defeated and lost. I have a great support system but feel like I am bothering my family by being upset and worried. I was hoping to find some support here.

hi and welcome kimberly :) if you are interested in optimizing nutrient status, to make your system as little like a typical ms patient's as possible, i can help. i just finished up a list of 7 tests for another member in a private message, and i think i put the same list or similar into a recent post so i could track down the link and add it if you are interested :)

Hemangiomas are often benign. I have a small hemangioma on my arm. It looks like a little red dot about 1.5 mm across. Make sure that your doctor addresses your concerns though.

hemangioma [he-man″je-o´mah]
a congenital vascular malformation consisting of a benign tumor made up of newly formed blood vessels clustered together; it may be present at birth in various parts of the body, including the liver and bones. In the majority of cases it appears as a network of small blood-filled capillaries near the surface of the skin, forming a reddish or purplish birthmark.

There are a lot of things we can do for ourselves that the neuros don't tell us. But the good news is you can learn that stuff at this site.

Take a lot of time and look around at the posts on nutrition, supplements, regiments, and medicines.

I am about a year into having MS. The advice here has helped me feel better and remain relapse free
