Not to highjack this thread, but I had a separate question on Vitamin D and didn't want to clutter up the board...

Should D3 dosage change in the Summer at all? I'm outside a lot more and getting more sun and I know that this is a big Vitamin D boost, does it mean I should use less of the capsules? I'm at 10,000 IU daily as it is.

I think the only way to find it out is to have a blood test for d3, I just had one and I was within the normal range (114nmol/L) and I am only taking 2000 IU daily, so I would definitely check my level if I were taking the amount you take. Also you should take K2 with that amount to handle calcium levels.

My brother takes 180,000IU a day of vitamin D3. He never had a bad side effect.

He follows the Dr. Coimbra treatment for autoimmune diseases.

The treatment consist of High Doses of Vitamin D3 + Vitamins and Minerals + High doses of 500 DHA + Restriction of Calcium (diary is not permitted) + 3 or 4 liters of water everyday.

The levels of Calcium and Parathyroid hormone (PTH) are analysed in every three months.

If anyone want to know more about it, check my post here: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/regimens- ... 27128.html

Vitamin D3 is readily available in 5,000 iu size (and quite inexpensive), and obviously you can just take 5 at a time (which is what I do). The pills are small and easy to swallow.

Or... (these are not drops)

hi mine is 1,000,000 IU/gm drops and it comes from the compounding pharmacist. used to be over the counter but is now a prescription item. this transition happened about the same time health care stopped covering D testing.

to take it, i get a syringe from the pharmacy to dose it out. when i want 25K it can be an oral syringe. when i want 5K i use a smaller one (for meant for diabetics i think)? so that i can get less out with one drop.
