Stem cell-derived therapy ‘shows promise’ in progressive MS

Post by MSUK »

Intrathecal administration of autologous mesenchymal stem cell-derived neural progenitors (MSC-NPs) was safe and well tolerated as a regenerative multiple sclerosis (MS) therapy, concluded a first-of-its-kind study presented at the 2016 annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN)...Read more - http://www.ms-uk.org/MSnews

Interesting article. Just browsing through it.
What caught my eye was the study on lipoic acid. It's safe and inexpensive. What is the difference between alpha lipoic acid and lipoic acid?

So how long do we have to wait for any results to be announced on Dr. Sadiq's stem cell treatments?

In general, the term alpha-lipoic acid refers to a 50/50 mix of the R and S isomers also known as enantiomers. The R enantiomer is the natural form found in our bodies. The S form is a product of chemical synthesis and has some negative physiological effects. It's best to use a stabilized form of R-lipoic acid. Thank you for the info NHE. Alpha lipoic acid is available otc right. I have a bottle 300 mg. I'm going to take it once a day. I wonder if it's OK to take it twice a day.
