Serum zinc
Compared to the zinc levels of the controls (93 ± 6 μg/dl), the patients with acrodermatitis had a significantly depressed mean serum zinc concentration of 21.6 ± 2.4 μg/dl, (p < 0.001). This level increased to 63 ± 8 μg/dl after zinc therapy (Table 2).
Serum albumin
Zinc-deficient patients had significantly depressed albumin concentrations of 3.23 ± 0.27 g/dl before zinc supplementation (p < 0.001). This mean increased to 3.95 ± 0.71 g/dl after zinc supplementation and was not statistically different from the control group (4.02 ± 0.34 g/dl) (Table 2)."
