Yes, my life really IS this silly.

Post by euphoniaa »

It's time for yet another episode in Euphoniaa's True Life Adventures. To set the scene, I work at a university (for about 11 yrs), in an office where we dress in a professional manner, which means I usually wear skirts/dresses, dressy shoes. And we can take college classes free!

This semester I'm in a drawing class at the Center for the Arts, 3rd floor, across campus. The distance forces me to trudge trippingly along on a zigzag, tortuous journey across a maze of concrete walks & stairs, cane in hand, whilst trying to blend into the crowd of agile young students scurrying past. Ha! I'm sure I'm barely noticed.

So anyway, today after class I made a hurried stop in the 3rd floor restroom (of course) before starting the long walk back to my office. Then I went down the hall to the elevator, exited on the 1st floor, down that hall to the outside door, across the sidewalk leading to the main entrance area at the center of campus, around its decorative rose garden, and had made it about halfway across the zigzag sidewalks toward my building when a female student came running up behind me to alert me that my skirt was still hiked all the way up my ass, tucked into my pantyhose...which were covering the Depends.

Quite a sight, I'm sure. I yanked my garments back into place, thanked her over & over, and didn't dare look back up at the row of classroom & office windows behind me. Yes, that IS just a typical day in my life. :-D
Dx'd with MS & HNPP (hereditary peripheral neuropathy) 7/03 but must have had MS for 30 yrs before that. I've never taken meds for MS except 1 yr experiment on LDN. (I found diet, exercise, sleep, humor, music help me the most.)

You're right, jimmy - thanks for the reminder!

And, ummm, I'm sure most of the students walking outside were concentrating on their texting at the same time. And...others were rushing to get to class. And...the more studious were doubtless reviewing their lecture notes. And...the outdoorsy types were reveling in the glorious sights & sounds of nature on a perfect autumn day. And...since the day was warm & sunny, the male students were probably more focused on the skimpy attire of the female students wearing shorts, halters & flip-flops.

Whew! There we go. I bet that one student was the only person who noticed! :-D

Well, I went out to dinner with my family last night and they thought the story was hilarious, of course. Then, in the interest of furthering my embarrassment (as families do  ) they suggested that the incident may have been caught on security cameras. And that even now pictures of my ass could be posted on a wall in a security office somewhere.

Which reminds me...most every student has a cell phone camera. Geez, it could be going viral on Youtube! Or even worse, making the rounds of the campus e-mail system to actual acquaintances/co-workers! If you happen to see an internet picture of a classy but clueless, slightly hobbling lady fitting this description, please let me know.
