Fatigue

Post by meg40185 »

I need some advice on dealing with MS fatigue. I've been diagnosed for almost 2 years now and had a few relapses during this time. I use Rebif 3 times a week and don't have any problems with that. Here lately though I am absolutely EXHAUSTED all of the time. I could sleep for 10 hours straight and still be tired. I'm having a hard time with driving because I'm fighting the urge to fall asleep at the wheel. My husband has end-stage renal disease and is on dialysis at home. I have an 8 month old baby and an 8 year old son to care for as well. Plus, I work full-time. I need something to keep me going! I have a lot on my plate and I feel too tired to handle it all. I am going to talk to my neuro about it at my next appt., but since I am uninsured and the only one working, I cannot afford to go at this very moment. What do you all do to fight this horrible fatigue? What helps with driving? That seems to be when it hits me the most. Thank you!

hi meg sorry you're having a rough time. have you already optimized all your nutrient levels? many of the nutrient imbalances/deficiencies seen in ms patients can contribute to fatigue.

i would follow JL's advice first, but I know my wife takes Alertec (Modafinil belongs to the group of medicines known as central nervous system (CNS) stimulants. It prevents sleepiness by stimulating certain parts of the brain.)
