Flu and then??

Post by TonyNZ »

Hi There,

PPMS sufferer

I recently got the winter flu bug that was doing its rounds here in NZ. Boy did it work a number on me! Literally took my legs out from under me for a few days and my vision became seriously messed up - (double vision and out of focus), plus both my arms became numb. 3 weeks later, my walking is back to its normal hobble and the vision has cleared up but my arms are still numb. As I have to go and be 'MS-expert' with my GP tomorrow, does anyone think that this was some form of relapse? Or was it sole the result of a viral infection?

Regards!

If the dominoes are set just right, then an infection can trigger a relapse.

Greetings:
Viruses trigger muscle cramps which impede fluid flows which is enough to cause blood "refuxes" into the central nervous system (CCSVI) as well as impede cerebrospinal fluid flow putting pressure on the spine - all of which is enough to trigger an "attack". (See my post on Thisisms.com of Nov 29, 2014 "'Progressive MS and the Spine")
First, I use "Oscillococinnum" by Boiron (Homeopathy which should be available in NZ) to stop viruses at first sign of illness. (Once illness installed, the remedy won't work, you need to use at first sniffle, even muscle cramps etc) Take up to 3 days, it can stop the sore throat etc overnight, and even if the bug "catches" you, the flu will be minor and much attenuated.

For now, see if you can get an acupuncture treatment, or Osteopathic or Chiropractic to give you a boost, like recharging the batteries. Even a massage, shiatsu for example.

Hope you feel better soon. Best regards, Vesta

MY FIVE STEPS TO MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS HEALTH

1. DETOXIFY
“Dr. Hyman explains his 10 day detox diet.
want2bike (From Thisisms.com)
I had the advice/assistance of a kinesiologist/nutritionist and won’t myself suggest a detox protocol. Dr. Hyman maintains that a simple diet change over 10 days will do the trick (or at least be a beginning) which is something anyone can try. So why not?

2. OPTIMAL NUTRITION AND SUPPLEMENTS - Paleo-Macrobiotic Diet

3. ENHANCE BLOOD/CEREBROSPINAL FLUID CIRCULATION - CCSVI - See Acupuncture (which includes Tens Self Acupressure)
Simple blood/cerebrospinal fluid circulation thérapies such massage, acupuncture, neuro-muscular electrical stimulation, osteopathy, or swimming may suffice. I do daily Tens self acupressure treatments to stay afloat and try to get an acupuncture or osteopathic treatment once a month. A serious venous blockage may require ANGIOPLASTY. Prior to taking that decision, one might consult a specialist in skeletal disorders (e.g. Chiropractors or Osteopaths) to be certain a bone, muscle, tendon etc is not obstructing the vein.

4. SUNLIGHT OR UV RAYS on the skin at least 15 minutes daily to release Nitric Oxide essential to vascular health and blood circulation.

5. EXERCISE BUILD UP PROGRESSIVELY (Consulting a Physical Therapist can help)
