story behind "The show must go on"

Post by zen2010 »

Hi,

Today, I discovered the story behind that song.

Did you know this song was recorded a few weeks before Freddie Mercury’s death?

He knew he was dying from aids, and he had lungs issue.
Guitarist Brian May saw he was struggling as he was very weak, so he told him to have a break. Mercury drank a glass of vodka an replied “I'll f...ing do it, darling “

Mercury was indeed announcing his imminent death: “I’ll soon be turning round the corner now / Outside the dawn is breaking / But inside in the dark I’m aching to be free”

Now, this song sounds different to me.
When he sings “i’ll face it with a grind i never give it in“, I realize how courageous this guy was.

Like a great genius, Freddie Mercury signed his farewells in song, knowing himself dying…
