TamiFlu & Copaxone cocktail

Post by d4vinder »

Hi Guys,

I'm back again with another question:

What are the recommendations for taking TamiFlu (Swine Flu meds) whilst on Copaxone.

My wife has been poorly with a temp for the best part of last week, and started to vomit yesterday. I called our GP who advised us NOT to come to the Surgery but to phone the NHS pandemic help line instead. They ran through a series of YES/NO questions then at the end of the call told me that she is eligible for TamiFlu.

Does anyone has any experience with the Copaxone/ TamiFlu cocktail?

I just found this on another website:

Don't panic!!!!!

I have just had swine flu and am on Copaxone and had just finished a course of IV steroids so I was put on tamiflu immediately.

Truly, it is no worse than any normal winter flu.

Headache, fever, sore throat, achey bones, sniffles and very, very, very, tired. I slept for 3 days.

I am sure the tamiflu helped as I got over it faster than my daughter did who didn't get tamiflu.

Otherwise it is just the standard treatment for flu. Keep your fever down with paracetamol, sleep and rest and plenty of fluids.

The only thing that I have picked up as a result of the flu is a sinus infection which is making me feel pretty miserable at the moment so I am off to the Dr tomorrow for some antibiotics but goodness knows I have picked up secondary chest infections or sinusitis with other flus too.

Cheers,

Belinda
