Westmount Square Imaging, Montreal - STOPPED

Post by annad »

Montreal Square Imaging is being stopped from performing further dopplers on MS patients for CCSVI. They will still do the ones booked before April 28th. They are waiting for the College of Physicians ok to continue.

They are apparently still doing MRVs which doesn't make sense.

If anyone has more information, please add.

HEY

Habenoughyet,
lol not sure what a transducer is but I was thinking maybe it's the gel because we all know that can have nasty side effects!

This is just getting ridiculously out of control.

I just do not know what to say.
I found a radiologist in Birmingham UK, that did the screening for ccsvi, he had been shut down as well. Well he was no longer taking new patients, before more research had been done.
They would help the pasients allready given an apointment, but wouldnt commit to more patients. They had a waiting list.
Blessing in disguise for me, as I got apointment in Bulgaria instead, and they do venogram as well.

I am not from Canada, but I would write to that College of Physicians complaining about the situation of discrimination. Why people with MS cannot get their veins tested? Why the rest of the population can?

frodo,
As they describe themselves, here's what the College of Physicans is:

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is the body that regulates the practice of medicine to protect and serve the public interest.

----
Yeah, one can argue that.

We've become expert letter writers lately, it seems. :?

Dear College of Physicians and Surgeons,

Please unblock the Westmount Clinic and let them resume testing for CCSVI. This is an internationally recognized condition, and three studies have reported prevalence results on it. These studies included a large cohort, not just a handful, of MS patients. The link/association with the disease MS has been proven. It is a scientific fact. Moreover the gold standard for testing for this condition is an X-ray venogram, which involves one or several injections of radio-opaque dye. This is considered to be much more invasive than the screening tests that the Westmount Clinic was performing.

These are patients who have lived with MS and submitted to standard therapies for years if not decades. If they contact the Westmount Clinic, they entertain paying for these tests, which is the only way they can get them. I understand that CCSVI surgery has been shut down in BC. However you are doing nothing by these actions other than force the patients to go outside the country. Sick people will always seek treatment, and this just shows Canada is more backward than Italy, Poland, Kuwait, Bulgaria, and probably other countries.

These patients care for each other, and protect and help each other much more than the usual crew of neurologists, Drug companies, and Society executives do. Much much more. This clinic was only accepting patients by
referral from their GPs. It does not reflect well on your organization that you do not respect the opinions of General Practitioners, and reflects badly as well on your treatment of paying customers. Please let each choose their own testing, and treatment as well.

I can not believe you think you are protecting anyone, except undeserving neurologists and large drug companies. When CCSVI is accepted by all, which will not take long (days, not months), a Royal Commission should investigate these shutdowns.

(I can translate your mail into french without any problem) WTF is happening here? Why everybody is shut down. It began with interventional radiologists and now we can't even get tested? I've never tought that someone (bad intention) could control all those organisations but I begin to be f#/!!/$/$ing tired of all that. It took me a f$/%$"ing month to have a doctor referal and now they shut down.

Is it normal or I'm missing something here?

I can't believe I'm replying my own post. Did I say that I was quite upset? How will it take to get that approval? Thanks to all people that want to protect us (MSsers) from dangerous unproven ultrasound machines and dangerous IR.

I share everyone's frustration with this. I just hope that, once this wave of shutdowns is past, there will be approvals and starting-back-ups.

Hello all,
I sincerely apologize as I am not bilingual and I assumed the English translation was the College of Physicians.
It's not.
It's the College Des Medecins Du Quebec that have halted Westmount. Quebec doctors answer to them.

Here is their link and there is a 'contact us' button.

Sorry for the confusion

I realize it has not been very long that private clinics have operated at all in Canada.

But has anything like this EVER happened in the history of our medical system? Either the prevention of private clinics from performing diagnostics or the prevention of public doctors from performing a treatment they deem to be medically necessary that is not considered to be high risk?

Is this the first time in our history anything like this has happened or do we have a precedent that we can turn to in order to try to manoevre our way through the road blocks?

No one believes this is chance or coincidence. This has been consistent in both the US and Canada. Perhaps someone like Dr. Morgenthaler is needed here. We'll be calling them 'back-alley dilations'. I'm beginning to see what the women had to go through. Where are you, Hippocrates? See my thread called something like 'professionals with conscience'. What price science? How many people have to be disabled or die before these ***** get a clue, or start to believe the stuff they want us to?

I'm seriously thinking about a hunger strike.
