If Freedman was so smart and cared he would'nt ignore the hundreds and hundreds of Canadians that have been helped by venoplasty and accumulate all their pre treatment neuro consults and assessments and have a team compare those with all their post procedure assessments - doh ! So simple.

It is not what he is saying publicly that I would be worried about.
It is what he is saying privately and who is listening.
Do you wonder why Canada is in the backwoods for CCSVI treatment.

Yes. Word of mouth. There are many mouths saying these words. But soon some people may be outed by the fact that their mouths are the only ones left repeating them.

give voice to the quieter majority of patients who agree with their cautious approach.
I never thought I'd have the silent majority thrown in my face again. Or maybe because these people have 'MS' they are supposed to be 'quieter'.

This article promotes a number of myths about us 'MS' patients.

1. We are fools, who will accept blindly what the 'professionals' tell us, especially if we read it in the newspaper.

2. We are fearful. What is there to lose? Nothing else, nothing real is being offered.

3. We are desperate. I read this over and over, said by people who want to use it as a reason to dismiss what they don't want to hear. The ones who are getting desperate appear to be the ones who do science by sound-bite, by interview and by press conference. The slanted articles give the writers and the interviewees away. They sound desperate to me.

It's no better than conspiration theory to use a "quieter majority" as a justification. How can he know about what the majority thinks? What his patients told him? Well, that's anectdotal! :P

I can contribute other anecdotes: From personal emails, I know that there are "quieter" neurologists who would prefer a far less "cautious" approach: Throughout research asap. Don't think they are a majority, but the opinion of Dr. Freedman is definitely not the opinion of the neurologists altogether. But it looks like that's what he thinks.

I think he is sending subliminal messages via our injectable needles. 8O I must say Ericnc14 you have a special gift as well as many others on here do. Your ability to know the thoughts, feelings, and emotions of someone that you have never met or spoken to before is absolutely incredible. I am sure Dr. Freedman's life revolves around CCSVI. After 25 years of MS research, and I am sure what is a comfortable living, he has now made it his sole purpose in life to stop the spread of the CCSVI plague. sigh... In all seriousness though having MS has helped me understand that life for me may be shorter than I anticipated and I have made the decision that my "story" on earth is not going to be one of anger and hate. If you guys feel that making this gentleman's life hell is what you need to do, than by all means continue spewing anger at him. We will all leave behind our own legacies. :)

Mark Freedman was unprepared for the onslaught of hate.
Well, I have seen/heard onslaughts, and this one is tame. I would feel lucky to have got away with only this. But as one of the most vocal of people working hard to prevent any progress of Liberation, he is as guilty as anyone of the untimely deaths of people who were on waiting lists for this procedure. These people, the dead, have had their human right to life violated. I don't feel sorry for anyone who has been very deliberate in trying to prevent this procedure from happening.

I don't hate them. But I sure don't like them either. If one of members of the panel walked in front of me, I would not spit. Words like snake, vermin, or killer would not cross my lips. I would not shout out my very very low opinion of them. I would likely have tears in my eyes. That is due to the pseudo bulbar affect, and nothing those people did. But if I were ever to have the chance, I would see they did not profit from their vile, offensive, harmful words. You can fool some of the Health Ministers some of the time, I guess. Some words are very costly.
