Wheelchair Kamikaze Could Use Your Vote

Post by marcstck »

My blog, Wheelchair Kamikaze, has been nominated as "Best Patient Blog" for 2010. There are only seven hours left for voting, but I could really use your vote, as one of my fellow nominees is twittering away, canvassing madly for votes. She's cut my lead by over 100 votes in the last seven hours, and I'm starting to feel the pressure.

I'm beginning to understand the power of the tweet. That's all well and good, but I'm a techno-troglodyte, and haven't yet stepped up to twittering. As a matter of fact, I'm carving this post on a rock with a chisel and hammer…

Voting should take about 5 seconds, just click the link below and choose "Wheelchair Kamikaze" from the short list of blogs nominated.

Thanks for your vote, and, if elected, I will abolish all taxes, eliminate the deficit, put a chicken in every pot, put some pot in every chicken, and issue a decree that henceforth all underwear must be worn on the outside.

Additionally, I'll order that neurologists must put aside all ego and territorial concerns and work with the vascular physicians in an effort to sort out the CCSVI puzzle as quickly as possible, to make safe and effective treatment available to all who desire it…

Marc, Can you vote more than once from the same email account? I thought I remembered from last year that you couldn't, but I just tried it a couple of times and the votes seemed to register.
PS: Love your platform :D

Thanks, needled. I think you can only vote from any IP address only once. But if you have multiple computers, or mobile devices, you can vote from each of them. Not that I would ever suggest such nefarious goings-on…

I tried voting more than once and it says "We've already counted your vote."

Phone, laptops, desktops, 4 email addresses -- let me count the ways, and you can count the votes...

They probably track who's voted through a cookie. Just delete the cookie and clear the browser's cache and you should be good to go.

I think I voted for you in my sleep. This is how I do most things. Now what I want to know is, if I ever do actually wake up, who will be designing the outer underwear, does this mean we can officially say goodbye to tofu, and can you amend your platform ever so slightly to say that safe and effective treatments can be available PERIOD -- no clauses attached at all? Thank you! And congrats to a guy who truly deserves this distinction -- small compensation for having a crappy disease, but your blog reflects you, not the disease. :-)
