Montel Williams on Dr. Oz 2/9/2012

Post by jeannekc »

Does anybody else feel cheated by Montel Williams appearance on Dr. Oz yesterday? We all know he got an angioplasty CCSVI liberation treatment in the last year yet he claims all his feeling better and more energy is due to this new health food regimen? And getting rid of his limp is due to chlorophyll? REALLY?? Not a single credit to this procedure?

He was on Dr. Oz again? And not talking about CCSVI?
If it was as you describe, then yeah, that's an elephant in the room to talk about the health food regimen and not talk about having had venoplasty. Oxygen is the most important nutrient of all.
Very glad to hear that his limp is gone, though!

It was Dr. Ponec, of American Access Care, who treated Montel.

I was hoping it was a repeat from sometime before he had the venoplasty. Thanks for the link, I'll give it a look.

Several people were on Facebook discussing the show--I didn't see it. But he is selling new vitamins and products, saying he's doing so much better (more energy, better balance, better gait), and not a word about his venoplasty procedure for CCSVI. It's really, really troubling. But nothing surprises me anymore.

Hi!

A high profiled celebrity such as Montel Williams cannot be seen to endorse any kind of procedure, it would be professional suicide to do so.

Also there would be massive legal implications if whatever he endorsed was eventually proved to be incorrect long term.

Hi!

I forgot to say if you google Montel and Atlas you can view a you tube video of a show where he had Atlas realignment and he experienced immediate positive effects I presume live on air.

So I was a little disappointed to learn he had gone down the ccsvi route, but must of had his reasons, and its not for me to judge him for that.

So today when I saw your post, I am heartened by it. ccsvi does not benefit all that has it done and in some cases not long lasting so perhaps there is an underlying reason, a cause.

Thats just my opinion though, dont shoot me down in flames, I just had to say

Yes, it is very heartening when someone does NOT benefit from CCSVI treatment....
...except that Montel has already stated that he had significant improvements from CCSVI treatment, including heat tolerance so that he was able to spend the summer in NY instead of Chile where it's cool, which he's had to do for the last several years.

edited to add: here is the webclip of Montel on Dr. Oz talking about CCSVI. This was available online only and was not shown on tv.

What goes around, comes around.

So if the limp returns, it's not restenosis - he just needs more vitamins.

Hi!

That is not what I meant, I would never wish ill to anyone diagnosed with a condition that no one can make head nor tail of, not even the best scientific minds, no cause, not hereditory, not contagious, one minute an autoimmune disease one minute not, hearing of a suspected breakthough or theory day after day, no cure year aft year, expecting us to just wait 60 - 70 years while all the time they may be barking up the wrong tree.

And the ccsvi comes along and nobody wants to is willing to consider that there maybe a CAUSE, if you wish to end it there, you can, thats totally up to you, but I do not and many others dont want to either and why should they.

There seems to be an imbalance in what others are allowed to consider regarding ccsvi, a tremendous amount of money is being made and I am afraid such is life, some people take advantage of that, it happens all the time I'm not accusing anyone here is doing it, but hey! we all need to wake up it happens.

life is life if someone can take advantage they will, I wish there would be comprehensive and thorough trials made, and it makes me wonder why those advocating ccsvi as millions of dollars are being made, why they themselves dont conduct trials, surely they would like to prove its credibility it would be in every ones best interest.

So I dont take any pleasure out of peoples misfortune of it not being successful, but perhaps there is a much bigger picture to be seen now that does hearten me because PROGRESS cannot be made until there is failure, unfortunate that, that is, but it is true, so I am fighting for those that the procedure has failed them. As their disappointment is so great and to think that they have no where to turn, well perhaps they have, lets give them that hope surely.

The Italian Doctors discovery is a fantastic one, exciting one as it opens up that crucial debate door, but it must be permitted.

Perfectly put Icecube2.
I watch Montel on Dr Oz and was horrified that there was no mention on his CCSVI procedure and his improvements that he had after having it done. What was done the other day was no different than someone that is myopic and must wear glasses all the time saying they changed their diet and took these supplements and now they no longer need the glasses. Never disclosing that they had laser surgery on their eyes.

Like I said when all this hit the headlines, Montel is only interested in what's good for Montel. There has to be a percentage in it for him.

He is an extrodinarily good self promoter which he diguises (very well) as the caring sharing TV host.

Why do people find that so diffuclt to grasp?

Financially benefit, that I very much doubt. he has done a lot to heighten the ms profile if he has used his celebrity status to help him do that, then from me he gets 10 out of 10, if I had a hat I would take it off to him.

And I very much doubt that I stand alone on that one.

a person with MS [ pwMS] appears to have found a method or treatment that has helped control his illness. looking at all three segments ..... you can't help but be impressed.

I agree with the above post .... about giving eyesight improvements .... claiming diet and other modifications to one's lifestyle ..... but neglecting to mention the eye laser surgery ...... yes ..... that is indeed troubling.

I say .... let's give credit ..... where it belongs .

either way ..... MW ..... certainly looked great ......

This is a shame, a lot of pwMS have no internet access and haven't got a clue about anything but the CRABs, and if smb of his profile has had CCSVI and feels better and cannot find a way to share it publicly, isn't it just simple lying???
