I called WSMI today!
Hi All,
I talked to the person who does the booking for Doppler Ultrasound for MS patient at WSMI clinic. They do it every Tuesday and Thursday. The cost is $450.
I was wondering if anybody knows or heard more about this clinic (WSMI) or the test?
Could anybody provide me more info?
I appreciate it.

babiezuique (barbara) had it done there.
I know the clinic, it's very reputable, small, but good.
My scan was the same technician, but he also works at a nearby hospital and I had it done there.
The test is non-intrusive, takes 10 minutes, he is very personable, yakking away to you all the way through about what he sees.

Thanks Jaguar.
I just came back from my family doctor. She gave me the requisition for SCREENING FOR CHRONIC CEREBROSPINAL VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY IN MS PATIENTS".
I also got the requisition for two blood test for Hughes Syndrome.(1- oCL stands for anti-cardiolipin 2-LA stands for Lupus anti-coagulant). I would like to do these test as well.
I hope Barbara or somebody else provide me some info before I book an appointment.
Cheers

The wesmount sqare offer the doppler for now, they dont offer the mrv. The doppler is like the test woman do during their pregnancy... it is ultrasoud. They use a kind of stick and they explore your neck, than on a screen you can see in colour the flow of your blood in your veins and arteries THis is it!
It take more than an hour. Because they do it supine and also in the seat position.

This is VERY IMPORTANT:
If they do not have the transcranial doppler (per Dr. Zamboni's protocol) CCSVI can be missed. My husband had a normal neck doppler, because the wand couldn't see up behind his ears, where his jugulars were stenosied. A simple neck doppler is not enough to diagnose CCSVI in all people.

Hi Barbara. I'm a French Canadian too. I'm living in Gatineau near Ottawa. You say you had your jugulars checked, but did they checked also your azygous veins?
Do you know the cost of the intervention in Poland? I suppose that in Poland they will do another Doppler or MRV before the intervention. Do you know the cost of both, the test and intervention.
Thanks for the address of the Westmount Square Centre. Merci pour tout.

I know Joan, but I'm getting desperate. I have no better option right now. If this showed CCSVI, great. If it didn't, I'd keep looking.cheerleader wrote:This is VERY IMPORTANT:

Please be careful where you book these tests. there are alot of places out there claiming the have read Dr. Zamboni's procedure & protocal - but just because they read it doesn't mean they know what they are doing. Also, the guy reading the results has to know what he is looking at. My son was sent to a place in Oshawa that claimed they were doing the correct procedure. but when I questioned where they went for training and how long the training took - they won't answer me. All I can say is do your research. W5 also warned of this.
Poland's complete new pricing is listed on the forum under Dr. Simka's patients. alot of good information in there.
best of luck to everyone
