Re: Oral Teriflunomide study recruiting relapsing MS patient
I guess this company has determined (nobody else has been able to prove this as yet) that MS occurs when the immune system attacks the brain and spinal cord.Rationale: Multiple sclerosis occurs when the immune system attacks the brain and spinal cord. Teriflunomide is a novel oral compound that inhibits the function of specific immune cells. Results from a two-year, phase III trial in 1,088 people with relapsing MS (the TEMSO trial), comparing two doses against placebo, showed that both doses significantly reduced the rate of MS relapses by up to 31.5% relative to placebo.
And the efficacy is around 30% better than placebo. Now where have I seen these numbers before?
