Live Attenuated Vaccinations

Post by NLGal »

I opened my Aubagio pack last week only to find an FYI insert. I found this part particularly interesting - "You should not receive live attenuated vaccine (Vaccine created by reducing virulence of a virus or a bacteria making it harmless, example Mumps, Measles, Rubella vaccine) during treatment with AUBAGIO. Check with your doctor before receiving any vaccination during treatment or after stopping AUBAGIO." In addition to the MMR vaccine, the Typhoid vaccination is a definite no-no. If you plan on going somewhere that requires this vaccine, change your mind and go elsewhere, or so I've been advised. I don't know if this note comes as part of a pharmacy prescription, so I wanted to share my new found information just in case. Please judge yourselves accordingly.
