.. ok my name is Justin nice to meet you all.. I'll try to make this short. Instead of listing all the symptoms I've had in the last year I'll just stick to what's going on currently..
I am twitching all over.. strong twitches soft twitches all kinds of twitches.. I have painful muscle spasms. For example, if I reach across my chest with my left arm to scratch my right shoulder blade my left front deltoid will spasm until I bring it back down.. all of my joints pop.. not normal popping. It was sudden onset. Head to toe.. It's more of a snapping I think. My wrist will snap in a jerky motion.. a lot of times when I take a breath my shoulder blades snap. It's something to do with the tendons or bursa.. not positive which. My eyes will get dry and my hands and feet will get super sticky. My heart rate gets higher than normal at times.
I have episodes where I wake up in the middle of the night and all of these symptoms intensify. Plus my vision will get super sensitive to light. During the episode my heart races very fast. About 135 bpm. My joints pop just by moving them. I get real weak. The twitches get worse during episode. During an episode my calves will lock up and other muscles. It's really scary when I have an episode . The back of my head even twitches. My senses all go haywire. My arms might be freezing and my bottom half will feel like it's on fire. Numbness and tingling also .
Ive had thyroid checked. 1 clean emg. Everything seems to come back normal. They tell me it's stress related so I am on cymbalta which has had no effect that I can tell..
Any advice in what direction I should go is welcome.
Oh and this is real painful. My back hurts the most.
Have no clue what I have
Re: Have no clue what I have
Hi,
Well I don't know either. However, that stress argument doesn't fit either.
Your racing heart is probably the best clue. There is a book called metabolic cardiology by Stephen Sinatra that you should find useful. It focuses very much on how ATP is made and used. It's the first thing I though of as I read your note. The book contains quite easy to follow recommendations on how to boost ATP.
The popping is from gas in the joints. Sounds dramatic but is usually not a health issue. All my kids pop all the time but they're fine.
The sensitivity to light suggests to me that you are deficient in something. Only a blood test or a fasting amino acid panel will tell you.
I think you need to change doctors as cymbalta is used for both depression and fibromyalgia . I feel your current advisor is just guessing its one of those reasons and is hoping he gets lucky. That's not good enough for you.
Regards,

Re: Have no clue what I have
I'm sure you may think this popping is normal but if you experienced it you would understand. Its definitely connected to what's going on with me. It is something to do with my muscles getting tight or something. It's more of a snapping. I'll check that out about the atp.. I've read some things about people having a motochondria defect where their bodies have trouble breaking down fat into energy. ..
I feel lost lol. I can't fully explain my experience bc so much has happened. When I try to explain to docs they just seem irritated.
I know when all of this started i had a boil come up on my arm which I think made something underlying flare up.
The episodes have gotten worse lately and it's hard to function at work.
Another thing to add my body will be hot all over when i wake in the middle of the night with my heart racing. And when my eyes get dry it feels like I have dust in my nose.
Sorry if this is all unclear.
I plan to find a doctor that may check into my situation thoroughly.. I really need the right specialist. Not sure who I need to see.

Thanks for the reply by the way..
Re: Have no clue what I have
Hi,
If the muscles are tight, you lack energy, your eyes are not comfortable and your heart races then focus on those things when you see a doctor. You may be right about the popping but you will struggle to get a fair hearing if you focus on that. The mitochondria is the right place to look hence I think you will find the book I mentioned useful. It is written by a cardiologist so his focus is the heart but the information is true about cells in general.
