The biggest problem is people buying over the counter 10,000mcg Biotin supplements that may, or may not contain 100% pure D-Biotin. Most of those supplements also contain fillers. To reach the 300mg per day a person would need to take 30 of those pills per day. That is where the biggest potential problem area is. The few online suppliers of "Bulk" powder are selling certified and tested 100% pure D-Biotin, they will even send you copies of the test certificate if you request it.

ALL these supplements contain fillers. 10000mcg dose would be smaller than the capsule containing it, so the capsule would be considered a filler.

These test certificates are re-prints from their suppliers. Their suppliers are located in china. China has a history of manufacturing fake products. So, to me personally, I would assume that if it was in their interest (which it is) and it didn't quite meet their clients requirements, a fake certificate would be easily produced. In most 1st world places, the company that provides the certificate also needs to be certified to do the analysis. Additionally, even if the certificate was real, the validation that you actually have a bag of product from the batch that was actually tested, is very questionable. That's where MEDDAY comes in with their GMP, and is a point that Cedel was trying to make.

And as a side, a lot of the on-line suppliers sell "Biotin" and do not specifically advertise it as D-Biotin. I have seen a quote from one supplier that said ALL synthetic Biotin was D-Biotin.
