Guillain–Barre Testimonials (Coimbra Protocol)

Post by AntonioBR »

- Guillain–Barré Testimonials (Coimbra Protocol)
Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rapid-onset muscle weakness caused by the immune system damaging the peripheral nervous system.

The initial symptoms are typically changes in sensation or pain along with muscle weakness, beginning in the feet and hands. This often spreads to the arms and upper body with both sides being involved. The symptoms develop over hours to a few weeks. During the acute phase, the disorder can be life-threatening with about 15% developing weakness of the breathing muscles requiring mechanical ventilation.

Some are affected by changes in the function of the autonomic nervous system, which can lead to dangerous abnormalities in heart rate and blood pressure.

The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown. But it is often preceded by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu.

This Protocol requires the guidance and monitoring by a physician with specific training to analyze each particular case.

José Augustinho has received the diagnosis of Guillain-Barré 4 weeks after an infection by Zika virus.

According to recent epidemiological data the infection by Zika virus is closely related to 3 diseases: Microcephaly, Lupus and Guillain-Barré.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a relatively rare autoimmune disease characterized by a degeneration of the myelin sheath that covers the peripheral nerves (the annual incidence is 1 to 2 cases each 100,000 inhabitants/year).

The role of the Zika virus as the etiological factor of Guillain-Barré Syndrome was very well established as a result of the explosive increase in this pathology in the countries of Africa and South America during the last epidemic outbreak of the disease (the incidence of this syndrome in these countries increased 172% to 877%).

In the case of José, the Guillain-Barré disease was extremely aggressive.

He spent 6 months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 3 months in a Coma with assisted breathing (tracheostomy). He was discharged from the hospital with a very bad prognosis.

The doctor of ICU said to his sister that José probably wouldn't live much longer.

He was in a wheelchair with a severe muscle atrophy on both legs and arms, with intestinal problems, urinary incontinence, and a very strong headache. He couldn't lift his arms and legs.

His sister was very desperate, so she asked us if the Coimbra Protocol could do something for him. We decided to try the Protocol for 20 days and if the result was positive we would continue the treatment.

In 20 days he had a good improvement in the urinary incontinence and his intestine started to work much better. I said to him that the muscle atrophy would take more time to get better. The Coimbra Protocol combined with Physiotherapy would probably improve his atrophy.

A year later he went back to our clinic and the evolution of José surpassed all our expectations. The severe muscle atrophy decreased dramatically. He left the wheelchair and now he can walk almost 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) per day. And both the urinary incontinence and intestinal problems were resolved. Check the video below.
