A diagnosis of MS according to McDonald criteria 2017 was made after spinal cord MRI revealed a nodular gadolinium enhancing lesion on the dorsal spinal cord and a cervical lesion, cerebrospinal-fluid-specific oligoclonal bands were detected, and a thorough exclusion of alternative causes was performed.

IMHO. This also means that McDonald criteria are shit, but is just what we have.
