Some New foods

Post by tzootsi »

Just a fyi for people on dairy free diets. We have recently come across some new foods that people might be interested in:
Good Karma Flax Milk - This actually tastes pretty good, and is loaded with omega-3. It's now readily available in many supermarkets here in the USA, and it's fairly inexpensive.
Daiya vegan cheese - Comes in several flavors - cheddar, mozzarella, etc. All the ingredients look quite safe. It actually tastes fairly close to real cheese, and will melt on pizza. Not cheap, about $6.00 for 8 oz.
Almande Almond yogurt - This stuff is very delicious, and can be found at upscale markets and health food stores.

Thank you!

I cut out dairy and felt much better but it is socially awkward when you are in a family like mine that loves pizza.

hemp milk can be made at home in a blender. it is also full of omegas.

i really like the coconut yogurt if you haven't tried it, its also really tasty.

when i'm being bad and eating gluten i just get a cheeseless pizza which tastes surprisingly good. we use the daiya cheese to make mac n cheese and it turns out pretty well.

i have a few dairy and gluten free recipes on my webpage (including mac n cheese) if you are interested: http://mylaceybrain.wordpress.com/category/food/
