jimmylegs, I hope I'm not butting in here. I just read your earlier post that said:
you never want copper levels higher than zinc. if you can keep copper steady but double the zinc you'll be in good shape!
So I checked my levels from about a year ago and were:

Copper ---- 1.07 mcg/mL
Zinc ------- .66 mcg/mL
These were both in the "Normal" range.  :-x

Please advise wherever you feel is appropriate.

Thanks,

yeah your zinc levels were awful but copper levels would be ok PROVIDED you brought the zinc levels up to the neighbourhood of 120.

I assume you noticed that your zinc level matched the bottom end of the lab's 'normal' range - which *of course* means there's no problem there at all right?
...mind you if your level had been 65, now THAT would have raised a red flag. huge difference right? 7:\ *facepalm* *shaking head*

so. have you been working on zinc at all since that older test? if not I wonder if we just found one of your missing cofactors... zinc does assist with mag absorption..

But jimmylegs, doesn't going from .65 (low) to .66 (normal) make all the difference :| The test did come from "health care professionals." And besides, going from .65 to .66 is a 1.5 % increase

I have been taking 22 mg - 44 mg of zinc picolinate most days.

ok! methinks a follow up zinc test is in order. i'd be interested to see how you've been absorbing that zinc picolinate.

So far on my list of labs test to request are :
1) serum Mg ---- I will get a RBC Mg one of these days also.
2) serum Zn

Do you recommend any others ?

My supplement plan going forward includes daily:
1) Zn picolinate 66 mg
2) TRS Mg 200 mg
3) transdermal Mg as much as reasonably possible
4) potassium gluconate 1500 mg

4) benfotiamine 200mg
5) fish oil 6 grams
6) L-arginine 6 grams
7) Full Spectrum E with Tocotrienols 100 IU
8 ) others (I will be updating this list)

ok serum mg, serum zn, sounds good.. couldn't hurt to add serum ferritin and get an update on serum copper levels.

looking at some of your other older stuff, might be smart to add serum alpha tocopherol and serum vit b12. why so high, what has been going on there?

also, serum 25(OH)vit D3 ..as opposed to serum total vitamin D.

hope that helps :) I have to move on to getting readings done - deadline midday Friday, which given my schedule actually means tomorrow night. giddyap!

jimmylegs, I have an appointment to see the Dr in early Feb and will be requesting lab tests.

my lab from November 2013 was:
serum Mg: 2.2 mg/dL
Vitamin D 25 Hydroxy: 29.8 ng/mL

2.2 is definitely a bounce back from the trend. needs to be lots higher though. I still have a gap in my data for you - need to get it all in one place properly!
