Processed food manufacturers love to add sugar to their edible food-like substances. It increases shelf life and also consumption. They try to hide the presence of added sugar in the ingredients list by using forms such as "concentrated fruit juice" which euphemistically sound like a better option than plain sucrose. Many of their products can have multiple types of added sugar, but it's all pretty much the same. Just for fun (and your health), look at a food label and divide the sugar content in grams by the serving size in grams to get the percent weight of sugar in a food. The results might surprise you. For example, ketchup is 24% sugar by weight. No wonder kids tend to slather it all over their food. As an alternative, use tomato sauce instead. It's often down around 4% sugar.
