The 3 Way Diet Influences Disease Outcomes

Post by TheMSCookbook »

There are at least three overarching aspects of MS pathophysiology that represent opportunities for influence on disease outcomes. Interventions may (1) modulate the inflammatory state, (2) protect against neurodegeneration, or (3) promote nervous system repair (Katz Sand, 2018).

The recipes in The MS Diet and The MS Cookbook are based on a diet that includes fish, poultry, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds but eliminates and excludes all meat, dairy products, legumes, grains, processed foods, alcohol, and most sugars; with the goal of addressing all three aspects of MS pathophysiology: (1) modulating inflammatory state, (2) protecting against neurodegeneration, and (3) promoting nervous system repair.

People with MS who follow this diet have experienced a significant reduction in fatigue and many other improvements in their quality of life.
