Hemoglobin related to CCSVI

can an elevated level of hemoglobin be a sign of CCSVI seeing as iron plays an important role in hemoglobin? the reason i ask is the last time i had an relapse my hemoglobin was very high at 190.

High hemoglobin can be a sign of heavy smoking or a sign of hemochromatosis. Get a proper iron metabolism panel done to verify that you don't have this genetic condition. I have found that this guy really knows his stuff...

Hello Nick,
I am sorry that I have to disagree with your statement, which I assume the “experts” have led you to believe.
1) A highish hemoglobin is typical for one of the tests for HH.
2) The serum ferritin is only an approximate test and along with the TS% only a very basic indication for venesection. They do not measure the excess stored iron in the body that is causing all the problems, only an indicator.
3) I have been using the Hemoglobin & MCV as the ONLY accurate measurements for my maintenance for the last 16 years, because the other tests are not accurate enough.

do high or low levels of hemoglobin and mcv indicate excess iron?
