yes, it's called the RebiSmart injector, and I'm using one.
It's an amazing electronic instrument. easy, accurate, and luckily for me idiot proof.
I'm a new rebif user and this is what they sent me.
The rebif website says it's available to any rebif users who want one.

Someone on another MS website said they are not available in the US Yet, I'm not sure if this is true or not. I'm in Canada.

The RebiSmart is an electronic injection device.

It's very accurate and easy to use.

It's about 5" tall, 3" wide, and 1 1/2" deep.

It has a screen like a cel phone and a few buttons.

You don't even see the needles, they come packaged in plastic containers that you place in the machine.

The unit holds 1 weeks worth of Rebif (3 shots @ 44mcg)

The unit prompts you along and won't proceed if something is not right.

It has skin sensors, and when it's placed against the skin properly it the big green button lights up.

You simply push the button and it does the rest.

The unit is fully adjustable to suit the individual user, ie; needle speed, needle depth, injection speed, etc.

It keeps a record of your shots. (date and time, but not location)

If you screw up, say drop the unit half way through your shot, it will stop injecting, tell you you didn't get the full dose, and ask if you want to continue. Push yes and it will inject the rest of the dose.

I know I saw a picture of it on a Rebif website.

I hope this answers your questions, feel free to ask if you need more info.

I should add, the unit is very easy to learn how to use, the nurse was at our house for 2 hours, but the actual training only took an hour.

Also, for a new rebif user like me, the unit can be set to automatically tritate....titrate...(?) My first 6 doses (2 weeks) were at 8.8mcg, now I'm on 22mcg, and after 6 shots at that dose it will go to the full dose of 44mcg.

I'm not sure, the Rebif website?

The phone # I use to talk to a rep at the Rebif Multiple Support Program is 1-888-677-3243.

If this works from the UK you will be talking to someone in eastern Canada. They are there from 8:00am to 8:00 pm EST.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I just spoke to my assigned rep at Rebif.

He says the RebiSmart is available in the UK and in Canada, but not yet in the US or Australia.

Good info Mike! I'm making my decision at the mo and think i'm going with Rebif (love my gadjets! haven't been this exited since i got my iPhone! lol)
Just a couple of questions though.
How often do i have to visit the pharmacy to replenish?
and
Once the three shot cartridge is installed does the machine need to be refridgerated?

The standard packaging is one months supply (4 vials, one vial per week).

No, you do not need to refridgerate the machine once you load a vial into it. Rebif can be kept at room temp for up to a month (up to 25 C). If you are in a very warm area, you can remove the vial from the machine and put it in the fridge.

Just take it out of the fridge 1/2 hour before injecting.

good luck and let us know how you make out

Hi Andie

I think if you were to start a new post you might get some responses to this question.

This post is about the Rebif injector.

Thanks

What time of day do you take your shot of interferon-beta? It it's in the evening, then maybe you would do better by taking it earlier in the day. I've been on Avonex for 10 years and found that I sleep better if I take my shot around noon. I get less side effects and the ones that I do get, I'm able to get through with some ibuprofen.
