Neurologist vs "MS Specialist" Neurologist

When my wife was Dx with MS 23 years ago, we went Dr shopping to find a neuro to treat her. The first two were "MS Specialists" both of whom were cold and offered no hope but did offer/insist on lots of drugs.... and then about three years ago my wife had a bad flare, and decided that she should get a second opinion, (from a Dr other than her neuro of the past 20 years, more about him below) so she again went to an "MS Specialist" and within 10 minutes he was asking/pressuring her to be in a drug trial his clinic was running

The neuro my wife chose is a general practice neuro and treats all neuro diseases, not just MS, and has been open to/agreed with her thoughts on meditation/diet/suppliments and very conservative with drugs (less is better) . He is open to the CCSVI theory "as long as she doesn't do anything crazy, like get a stent" and has offered to write the prescription for an MRV & Doppler ultrasound if she wants them (she does & we have an appointment on Oct 27)

So our experience has been three bad "MS Specialist" neuros to one good general practice neuro

And it seems (to me) that the neuros that are vocally against the CCSVI theory are all "MS Specialists"......

So I guess I'm asking is this just me or have others of you had the same exerience.....(maybe I should have made this a poll)

Someone started a thread in the general forum about MS specialists, and I stated my belief that they don't exist. How could they? They don't know what causes the illness, aren't sure about the treatment, sometimes they don't know when to make a diagnosis (because the signs just aren't conclusive...)....anyhow, like you said, they specialise in what drugs to prescribe. My husband also prefers a general neurologist. I don't need to argue the point, I think if they have sense, people will come around to see the specialists for what they are.
