CCSVI scan in Toronto

I've been on a waiting list for a CCSVI testing in Toronto (I think at Global Medical Imaging, I think they just do a doppler scan?)

But now I cant remember if people said on here that its worth it doing that scan? Like can they tell properly? I just thought I remembered ppl saying that alot of ppl have negative results when they actually do have CCSVI, but those type of scans dont work?

Any advice?

My opinion is don't do it. If it's positive, great. If it's negative then it means nothing.

My wife's scan, done by experienced techs in Albany, showed a perfect system with none of the 5 criteria for CCSVI. The venogram the next day showed stenosis in both jugglers which were then ballooned.

My wife is showing great improvements.

Hi:
My husband was scanned in Port Perry last Jan 25th but they had little experience. No more than 3 had been performed at the time and they found no reflux other than possiblely a problem within the transcranial that they didnot have the equipment to scan for.
May 7th had another scan at Barrie imaging where Angela (trained by Dr Zamboni) stated without hesitation that if you have MS you have CCSVI. She found 3 stenouses in my husband's jugular's. June 15th he was treated in Poland for 3 stenouses...
The fact is...even if you find out that you have stenouses there is nothing available in Canada where you can be treated and where ever you go out of country, they would likey want to do their own scans.
If the scan ist covered by your insurance go for it... but the truth is in the venography...

Thank you both for your responses.

The scan isnt covered by OHIP so it is $250. That is not outrageous in my opnion, so I think I'll try it just to see what the results say. I understand I sadly can't be treated in Canada and that they might not have the best equiptment or procedure, but I'm just curious.

knowing what i now know, i wouldnt do it.

Even skilled technicians have a 50/50 positive result.
