Just a guess, but if her BP was very high, it may have caused the brain bleeding. Don't quote me.. JMO

I think that's a huge leap to make--and I'm not sure it's an accurate one.

For Laforest and what appears to be an increasing number of MS sufferers, an unflinching belief in the so-called "liberation" procedure developed by Italian neurologist Dr. Paolo Zamboni means they are undeterred by skeptical medical professionals or even reports of two Canadian deaths.

So Dr. Paolo Zamboni is a neurologist? How can you even believe these stories when reporters can't even get it right!

Someone is poking around in her blood vessels and a few hours later she's suffering from haemorrhage symptoms - I know where my money lies.

While people need to understand the risks associated with this surgery, all surgery has risks. Why the focus on this surgery's (procedure) adverse events and not other surgeries adverse events? Heck living has risks. We don't live in a risk free world. Why do we cling to this life so like it's going to last forever. We are reminded that our lives are like a mist and a vapor. If one's quality of life can be improved, I think it is reasonable to pursue this. Wonder how that compares to the DMD's? We are not forced to make the decision. Right we have this as an option. Is that going to change? Who knows. I agree with Dr. Sclafani's comment about seeing Canada approaching or our Obama healthcare system approaching that of Canada's. Not such a good thing. No offense to Canadians, just their healthcare system.
