Montel's announcement

This is a very nice news clip. For those short on time, the subject turns to MS about 2 minutes 18 sec into the clip. He makes the best short statement on CCSVI treatment and its relationship to MS that I've ever heard (or read for that matter).

He has a new fan. I don't watch TV, so know very little about him.

I liked his explanations. Can't wait for the Dr. Oz show, it will be a full hour of packed CCSVI goodness and I think Montel will carry it off. It's very personal for him to film everything around getting CCSVI treated. I know my emotions were up, I can't imagine his wouldn't be. You just have to read one anecdote of someone helped by CCSVI and you know how much you want it for yourself.

We might have to live with him calling it surgery instead of surgical procedure but that is a fine point. To someone who has never heard of CCSVI it is a surprise to think MS and surgery and then the first worry for people is that it means brain surgery. Nope.

The video leads off with a discussion of the possibility of new drugs alleviating symptoms of MS and I don't know what new drugs those are? Alleviate is such a promising word. Alleviate promises to make it more bearable and, for someone such as Montel with unbearable neuropathic pain, how can the unbearable be made bearable? Most likely the new drugs are the new orals, which do not alleviate symptoms but can reduce relapses by a third or two thirds with some potentially fatal side effects. Although the conversation starter is on the drugs, it shifts immediately to CCSVI.

I think I noticed Montel roll his eyes, Cece, when the newscaster mentioned new drugs or drugs that help 'alleviate' symptoms. Did anyone else pick that up?

Although I do not watch TV and hardly know Montel other than what I have seen from many yrs ago when I did see some of his shows, and now recently with all to do with MS, I must say that I am very happy that he seems to be doing well. I remember seeing him on Larry King Live, about 10yrs ago shortly after I was diagnosed, and he had just been diagnosed too, and he was so full of promise for himself and for others with MS, and this has not changed.

I admire very much what he is doing with/for our troops. He seems to have gone from talk show host to humanitarian. I like it.

Yes, I saw that too. He did a sideways shrugs too. Made me smile. I am frustrated with how little the drugs can do.

Well I like the way He presented himslef during that interview and how He was careful to describe what He'd had done.

My opinion of Montel just went up based on that interview.

Montel Williams is one of the reasons I have gone down thew misaligned Atlas route, he did a feature on it a few years ago.


Hr also had Ann Boroch, talking about how she had Candida and elliminated it/

Both these conditions I had.

It saddens me that he gave up on these theories, but I think he needed more than one chiropractic adjustment he needed to continue with it.

Montel still sees a NUCCA chiro (he's had many treatments, not just one), he still juices, he still works out, he still uses mj for pain relief. He also still takes copaxone. He hasn't "given up" or abandoned any of the alternative treatments he utilized to acheive symptom relief. The reason he continues to seek new treatments is because his MS continued to progress, and he was still dizzy, in pain and fatigued....I think that's the reason most pwMS seek new treatments. To try to slow or stop disease progression, and reduce symptoms. Time will tell how venoplasty does for him.
He'll be on Dr. Oz the end of September. We'll post once we get the exact date.

Thanx for that. Do let me know Dr. Oz date yeah, that will be so interesting. Where did you get info about his current treatments etc., as I havent been successfull in gleening up to date stuff. I know he is on facebook, but I dont go there, I leave the activity of facebook to my kids.

Yes, I think Montel takes a "do-everything" approach to his disease. I think it is best to do all that we can, in every area that we can, from diet and exercise to stress reduction to DMDs to venoplasty of any blockages in our veins.

Can't wait to set the DVR to record this one. Not to be missed.
