Lhermitte's sign

Do any of you have Lhermitte's sign and if so do you have any spinal lesions?

Hi popjinx, and welcome! If you scroll down the main General Forum page a few threads (or click the link below), you'll see my most recent post about Lhermitte's. I'm surprised that I was the only one who posted on that thread, since it's a very common MS symptom. If you don't get a lot of replies here, you can also click on the "search" button at the top of the forum and look for other posts about it.

As a quick answer to your question, I do have Lhermitte's (it was much, much worse many years ago), but my C-spine MRI didn't show any lesions, although I think spinal lesions may often be the cause of it.

Here's another Lhermitte's thread:

Good luck to you, and feel free to ask more questions.
Dx'd with MS & HNPP (hereditary peripheral neuropathy) 7/03 but must have had MS for 30 yrs before that. I've never taken meds for MS except 1 yr experiment on LDN. (I found diet, exercise, sleep, humor, music help me the most.)

I have Lhermitte's and was told that of a possible thoracic lesion. No one is interested in doing another MRI to be definite so I just carry on. Don't expect any better from the medical people around here.

Lhermitte's symptoms should be temporary. I have had about two episode of it that lasted about 2 to 3 months. I had two versions of it at once. I would get the 'electric jolt" down my spine if I lowered my head and I would get an "electic jolt' down my legs when I got up from a sitting position.

I think I had lesions in both the "brain stem" and the lower back.

It was a rough time but it has not reoccured in 8 years.

I had lesion C4/C5 that caused L'hermittes.
Since that lesion has disappeared from the MRI now so has the L'hermittes.
Had it for a year though, not painful, just annoying.
