Bump.

A study was started 11/8/2012 some details here http://transparencyls.com/node/9

As Angiotensin triggers production of aldosterone, this lends credence to my aldosterone theory (boy did I come in the back door on that one...too bad I didn't notice Lisinopril first!). I'm still going to try eplerenone instead of lisinopril as it will have fewer side effects and do virtually the same thing as far as MS is concerned (I *think*).

Why didn't you clue me into my lisinopril blindness, Dania?! lol

Are you still taking lisinopril? How long did you take it? I wonder if the diamox doesn't yield instant results for your pressure issues (I think that's what you take it for?). I've been taking doxy (and rest of CAP) for threeish months and have noticed very slow improvement in finger sensitivity. Doxy reduces aldo production so I wonder if it doesn't take longer to feel improvement from Aldo/ang block.

I had improvements with Diamox within hours. I take it for NPH which Diamox is use to test for and treat. I have taken both Lininopril and Diamox together. Feel better just taking Diamox alone.

This may be of interest to people reading this thread – FDA approval of a study of the ACE inhibitor lisinopril:

If anyone is going to try Lisinopril, please try to get eplerenone with it. Aldosterone "breaks through" ACE inhibitors and eplerenone is often used in conjunction with them to manage this escape. I don't think lisinopril is going to work on it's own. JMO.
