Azathioprin : imuran

Post by LSITC »

Hi to all out there in interweb land

I have just been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis (in addition to relapsing remitting ms) and my liver specialist has advised me that he will soon want to start me on Azathioprin for hepatitis. I understand this is also used as an ms treatment so the question is: anyone out there taking it for ms and does it work?

A little anxious as have got used to fampyra which was working well for me and I guess will have to stop when start Azathioprin.

Hope someone has even just a little info.

Thanks

Please research azathioprine (Imuran) and its serious side affects VERY thoroughly!
My hypothesis: excess insulin (hyperinsulinemia) plays a major role in MS, as developed in my initial post: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic1878.html "Insulin – Could This Be the Key?"

I have never used azathioprine for MS nor any of the other chemo drugs. However, here is an interesting article about chemotherapy...
