thanks poet. lets hope this guy digs deep and gets behind getting it legalized straight across the board. i think we can make our own decisions on how to handle the rest. hopefully when he sees the corruption and reasoning and the fact that hemp was a safe medicine, a safe fuel, a safe product for many manufactured products, and on and on. and the greedy selfish money sceeming scaniving big money low lifes that had their way with the corrupt law makers he'll really get on board and help things moving. -- it's bull shit that it will take a while for laws to be changed etc. the low lifes made it illegal in the blink of an eye--they can make it legal just as quick.

really crazy thought amongst the other things is that i can go buy a "python snake" have it in my home if it don't kill me first, it could escape and do the deed elsewhere. look at the situation in florida and elsewhere where these stupid legal big snakes that were allowed to be someones cute little pet got loose and now look at that enviromental mess. but hemp is illegal. "remember these low lifes making these laws are looking out for our best interest. yeah right.

you got a good point david1949!

Hi ryan and welcome to TiMS,

Thanks for the link to the study done in Spain. Imo, hundreds more studies are needed about marijuana and MS. I'm glad the oil helped you--if I had access, the oil is the method of use I'd choose.

Believe it or not there is a ton of good research on cannabis as med. Just not in the U.S. with the FDA gold standard of med research. But thats a whole different problem.

http://www.cmcr.ucsd.edu/index.php?opti ... Itemid=135

But this one is a good one. Done in the U.S. Up to the double blind placebo based ect ect gold standard of the FDA. They can't make an excuse for this. Just ignore it.

Phoenix Tears (oil) is the way I'd go back too if i wasn't stuck back in wonderful nj.

I miss the creams and salves very much. They worked great for my muscle cramping. Especially the ones in the middle of the night that get in my feet and ankles.

I went from somewhere around 7 pills before i moved to norcal and started using cannabis as my primary daily med for ALL my day to day MS symptoms. It was a life saver for my health. Ironically I always smoked but it wasn't until got off the pharm train that i really saw how well it works for my MS.

I'd really like to try the creams and salves, especially around my ribcage. There's a prescription lotion with Lidocaine in it that sometimes helps me; maybe you could give it a try although I imagine it won't be the same as the mj ones.

Thanks, orion -- CNN's Sanjay Gupta having changed his mind about "weed" is an excellent video that I believe every government employee and elected/appointed official at all levels, branches, agencies and courts of government should watch with their families and friends. Just like CCSVI being up against big pharma, mj proponents are up against the law enforcement empire which is growing more and more militaristic with each passing day.

Also, thanks for the Wiki link about CBD (vs THC):
wiki wrote:Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 85 cannabinoids found in cannabis.[2] It is a major constituent of the plant, second to THC, and represents up to 40% in its extracts.[3] Compared with THC, cannabidiol is less psychoactive, and is considered to have a wider scope of medical applications than THC,[4] including to epilepsy,[5] multiple sclerosis spasms,[6] anxiety disorders, Bipolar Disorder,[7] schizophrenia,[8] nausea, convulsion and inflammation, as well as inhibiting cancer cell growth.

New organic, medicinal indica pot strain is named after Dr. Sanjay Gupta:

http://www.hightimes.com/read/new-pot-s ... njay-gupta
A new organic strain of pot from Boulder, Colorado has been named after CNN Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

"We selected the strain carefully," said Jeff Kless, owner of Helping Hands Herbals Dispensary in Boulder. "Choosing one for those who suffer from debilitating medical conditions such as cancer, MS, severe pain, nausea, anxiety and wasting, and need physical and mental recovery without the use of pharmaceuticals -- or for those transitioning off pain medication."

Gupta Kush calms the mind without compromising clarity, and is an excellent pain and tension reliever. The indica strain has its origins in the Hindu Kush Mountains of South Asia, home of the world’s most potent pot. GK has a rich green color and a thick, hashy, floral taste. Onset is said to be immediate and effects are long lasting, "causing waves of relaxation to move through the body, calming nerves, and allowing the user to get some deep conscious rest before drifting off to sleep," said Kless.

No federal challenge to pot legalization in two states

http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/29/politics/ ... ?hpt=hp_c2

The Justice Department said it won't challenge state laws that legalize marijuana and will focus federal enforcement on serious trafficking cases and keeping the drug away from children.

Attorney General Eric Holder, in a conference call Thursday morning, notified the governors of Colorado and Washington that the department, for now, will not seek to pre-empt those states' laws, which followed voters' approval of ballot measures that legalized recreational marijuana use.

Marijuana will remain illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act. But a department memo to federal prosecutors tightened federal marijuana prosecution standards.

Under the new guidelines, federal prosecutors are required to focus on eight enforcement priorities, including preventing marijuana distribution to minors, preventing drugged driving, stopping drug trafficking by gangs and cartels and forbidding the cultivation of marijuana on public lands.

The guidelines, issued by Deputy Attorney General James Cole, have been months in the making and took on some urgency after citizens in Colorado and Washington approved the ballot measures last fall. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia allow some legal use of marijuana, primarily for medicinal purposes.

The attorney general told the Washington and Colorado governors that the Justice Department will work with the states to craft regulations that fall in line with the federal priorities, and reserves the right to try to block the laws if federal authorities find repeated violations.

The memo to prosecutors also seeks to address one common complaint from medicinal marijuana dispensaries in some states, which have been subject to raids by federal agents because they were deemed too big or profitable.

The size and profitability of marijuana businesses will still be a factor prosecutors can consider, but there also must be additional illegal activities for prosecutors to take action.

The new guidelines don't change federal money laundering rules, meaning that some large banks may still be leery of doing business with marijuana producers and sellers. However, Justice Department officials said there is some leeway for banks to provide services to such businesses, so long as they don't violate the eight priorities being assigned to federal prosecutors.

"We received good news this morning when Attorney General Eric Holder told the governor the federal government would not pre-empt Washington and Colorado as the states implement a highly regulated legalized market for marijuana," Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson said in a statement.

"We want to thank the attorney general for working with the states on this and for finding a way that allows our initiative to move forward while maintaining a commitment to fighting illegal drugs. This reflects a balanced approach by the federal government that respects the states' interests in implementing these laws and recognizes the federal government's role in fighting illegal drugs and criminal activity," they said.

I use marijuana when I have the money, I think it helps with my seizures, but the laws in Florida are shit. Why they don't let us use it is beyond me. I wish I could move from this state and smoke legally.

Hi everyone,

In the coming weeks, I'll be posting about my experiences with using Rick Simpson Oil (RSO). I've been blessed with help from a really great and knowledgeable person who has kindly and graciously offered his help, and with his tutelage, I'll post easy-to-follow recipes for the RSO and other oils.

I just have to ask... why do so many MSers take experimental, toxic chemotherapies and scary immune-modulating drugs, all with horrible side effects and risks at upwards of a cost of $50,000/year, and not use pot when it's been shown to be so beneficial for us? If people's reticence is because pot is illegal in their state, then I believe those people should contact their state (and federal) representatives to ask for changes in the law.

As I post my progress with the RSO, please feel free to ask questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. My first try with the oil will be to make a honey-based elixir with the RSO that will be easy to make, dose, take, and store. We're very lucky because I'll be learning from a master.

High and happy times ahead. :-D

Welcome, sherryrose, (very pretty user name)

I'm very glad you have access to marijuana from time to time, but I'm also very sad it's not legal in FL and you can't have it all the times that you need its benefits. Pot isn't legal in NY, either. I hate feeling like a criminal, but I hate feeling shitty from my MS even more. I wish more people could benefit without having to break the law.
