Frustration....depressed and MAD!

I don't usually get down on life...but dang! What a day. Went to my regular doctor. New at this and wondered if I was having a flare up. Yep...36 hr migraine..(been forever since I had one) my neck from the spinal lesions is a tight collar to colar bones. Right arm numb and dropping things cuz I can't feel it. My doctor tells me to call my neurologist. I call the prestigious hospital...let my ms nurse know what's up. I call and tell them what's up...they freak out that yesterday I felt bad and took a steroid to feel sorta ok. Then this am I took another (12 hrs later) I knew it would provide relief. Today after my regular doctor I called....6 hrs later and the ms people at the hospital never called...even after I left another message for the nurse. I took another steroid for relief and 4 hrs later a little steroid. 20 mg this am and 30 late tonite.steroids is what they prescribe and what do you expect? No calls....what is the other option here? I hope that tomorrow is a better day.
I can't keep doing this again....waiting for people when I am sick. Hate it!!!
Guess I shoulda stuck to town to outpaitent steroids or stronger pills...or something!

I'm with you on this. My symptoms are flaring up, called my MS nurse last week, still heard nothing back, tried neurology, they didn't want to know because my appointment is only a few weeks away they just said to get my gp to fax a letter (my relapse is now!!!) so I went to the gp who was reluctant to fax a letter and just prescribed amitriptyline and cocodamol more things are flaring up daily. I'm going back to my gp because I'm getting depressed and struggling with my children.

I have a good GP. Hope you do alsoLambchop. What is wonderful the nurse there has MS too. I need to search out a support group in MI. I hope you are better and I am new on the medications and supplements thus far. God Bless you and hope you have improved since this post.

I bought a few new supplements. Evening primrose oil...inositol and CoQ10. Have to see how and when to take. Still trying.....keeping on. Damn MS!

The MS nurse got back to me, now I'm on steroids but my legs feel like jelly and my grip is minimal. Fingers crossed it'll get better soon.

You will get better. I love steroids...the days I was stiff I took them...everyone hates that but when moving or not is the question...I'll take moving! I Hate the weight gain. Always takes a weekish for full effect on iv steroids for me...then all is good again (most of the time). What drug are you on...out of curiosity? Glad they got back with you...I felt sooo alone till I found this and got help from the GP. Hope you feel improvement soon!!

It's Methylprednisolone. The effect of them is minimal and wears off too fast and they taste rancid :-/

I always had iv steroids from 500 to 100 whatever's for 3 days....when I have a flare. I have pill form too 10 and 20mg pills...the iv is the one that works the best but the pills work for day to day stuff. If you are having a flare...as I am learning same or new symptoms lasting more than 24 hrs that is hard to function( my last flare wa s my neck like I'm wearing a collar and jelly rt hand...I'm rt handed) that was when ivs started. If you aren't getting good snuff relief from pills..call dr for iv push...that's the ticket. Hope this helps.

It's all affecting my right hand and leg too. I'm also right handed. My hand got a rash which has now on both palms. Not sure if its due to the steroids, bit weird and concerning. If it gets worse I'll go back to the gp Tuesday :-/

Anyone else try this drug with their MS and high EBV? I asked my pcp for it...he agreed and I think my Cfs is a tad better. As far as the general fatigue. Anyone try this? What was your dose? Results and how long did you take it? Just curious. Thanks!

Just a thought, I was prescribed Achtar gel injections while waiting to go on Tecfidera which I started May 15. The steroids tore my stomach up so bad I ended up with gastrinitis. Just a thought that you may want to look into. Ash3

That's a bit worrying. I'm seeing the neurologist on Tuesday I'll ask him what things are available. The steroids I'm taking have given me a fat tummy and face!! Not impressed :-€

I have been feeling rather dizzy,...in my head and eyes not room spinning. I found out I have glaucoma....I am getting a laser procedure on my eyes to help with that. I am concerned...I started avonex a week ago and for the life of me I don't recall how long this has been. May be 1 week or two at the most. Is this a flare? Effect of avonex? Glaucoma? Should I call my jerk faced neuro? Eye specialist? If anyone can relate or give me a few pointers I'd appreciate it.
