Can your life ever be normal again?

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Have you read the Multiple Sclerosis Diet book? I read it shortly after I was diagnosed. I found it to be uplifting. It might improve your attitude and make things seem less hopeless. I don't think it will cure MS but I think it can slow it down.

I’ve been following the diet recommendations that I’ll find online. I’ll look into that book because I need something to give me hope. Right now everything seems pointless.

It's for the rest of your life ,pace yourself. Stay busy at work enjoy yourself do things you've thought about but haven't done. Don't let it mess up your thoughts easily said I know.🤔

What a completely moronic thing to say, it's insulting to those of us that have serious life changes thanks to this , not just numb fingers and toes
Ms/better life, up to you, what a frigging joke

"Yes and no, depends on you. It can be even a better life."

What an excellent, factual, truthful statement!

My life is better in many, many ways and although there are certainly difficult times as well, but overall my life has been enhanced in many positive ways!

A few examples:

- my memory is much, much, much better than at any time in my life.

- my cognitive abilities are probably better than at any time in my life.

- my overall health (aside from MS) is better than at any time in my life and continues to improve.

To be fair, things are certainly not perfect but in total my life is better overall.

Having a better life is a choice everyone can make, MS or not.

There are so many people with MS that do remarkably well and are very, very happy with their lives.

And of course there are many healthy people that are very, very unhappy with their lives.

Yes and no, depends on you. In my case, it is better and I see I am not alone...

Hello,

Hope my comment won't hurt anybody.

I kind of agree with Robbie.

Zyklon,
If i remember well, your EDSS is 1 or even less.
If you were at 6, I'm pretty sure your speech would be different...

Cheers

as i understand things, zyklon has worked very hard to get from 5.5/6 at dx to 0.5/1 earlier this year.

Zyklon, if you don't mind sharing, what are some of the things you did to improve things...

Can you please don't make it personal?

Question is: Can your life ever be normal again?

3rd and last time: Yes and no, depends on you.

You may do nothing and stay well for your life
You may do everything and become wheelchaired in just days

MS can be cruel, MS can be forgiving, MS can be teaching, MS can be punishing. You name it and whatever you do, it is not moronic.

Peace, out...

fyi @ElliotB zyklon's journey is thoroughly documented here:
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=28969

zy i don't know if i agree that someone could have done everything and end up wheelchair-bound in days.. only because i personally doubt that 'everything' that could or should be done, could possibly be achieved in just days!

Not sure, I have never been given a score but based on what I have read about how it is calculated, I am probably at 3 or 4.
