Objective:
Poor sleep is a frequent symptom in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). The objective of the study was to assess the relationship between nocturnal polysomnographic (PSG) findings and quality of sleep, fatigue, and increased daytime sleepiness among patients with MS.

Conclusion:
Presence of RLS seems to be the main factor determining poor sleep, fatigue, and daytime somnolence. Sleep disordered breathing and its severity influences only fatigue in patients with MS.

Conclusion
The incidence of breast and colorectal cancers does not differ between persons with and without MS; however, the incidence of bladder cancer is increased. Reported differences in the incidence of some cancers in the MS population may reflect ascertainment differences rather than true differences.

Although kidney disease can be associated with MS, few cases have been reported in the literature. The pathogenesis of renal disease in these patients can be related to lower urinary tract dysfunction, recurrent UTI, and treatment with immunomodulatory agents such as interferons. Therefore, neurologists and other physicians managing patients with MS should be aware of the risk of renal disease and monitor patients’ renal function closely during the course of treatment. Further studies are needed to explore renal diseases and their prevention in patients with MS.

Yearly change in air pollution and brain aging among older adults: A community-based study in Taiwan

Results: Overall, all pollutant concentrations, except O3, decreased over the 10-year period.

Conclusions: Greater rate of reduction in air pollution was associated with better attention and attention-related white matter integrity. These results provide insight into the mechanism underlying the relationship between air pollution, brain health, and cognitive aging among older adults.

..These geographical variations in the incidence and prevalence of MS have resulted in an imbalance of “real-world data” of MS to support clinical practice and health policy among different countries. Due to the high incidence and prevalence of MS in North America and Europe, studies regarding the epidemiology and disease burden on MS have been thoroughly conducted and updated during the past few decades1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. In contrast, studies focused on MS in Asia were very limited11,12. Nonetheless, some previous studies conducted in Asia still suggested an increasing trend in the prevalence and incidence of MS over the past couple of years13,14,15,16,17,18,19. The underlying cause of the increase remains obscure and is thought to be beyond the mere evolution of diagnostic criteria13. These findings highlight the need for more studies on MS, particularly in Asia.
