A/B have swelling & water retintion in legs & feet p

My feet and legs are huge, did I mention HUGE!!!

I think I will have to go back on the BP pill to help with all this fluid.

Just wondered it anyone else experienced this.????

I had had a 10 lb weight gain since stented, No doubt where it is, I just look at my feet and legs. Wooow!!

Hi Cindy

Have been following your progress since your operation and wondering if you returned to a flat bed, remained at a 3 inch incline or moved to the 6 inch incline?

I ask because you have observed an increase in fluid retention in your legs and feet following the surgery.

My bed is at a 5 inch incline now. We purchased a new mattress about 2 months and raised it to 5 inches.

Any sudden weight gain like 10 pounds of water weight should be reported to your doctor. You have hypertension, This could be dangerous. This is known to all who suffer from hypertension. Like myself.

Call your doc today. Don't be changing your blood pressure medication on your own. We cannot change medications without docs supervision! The fluid in the legs is VERY serious. Make an immediate appointment, please!

I wonder if stenting is bad for people with hypertension. many times it's because of the arteries getting stiff, with extra blood flow those arteries just can't do it.

My pressure went up after each baby, right now it's low to normal since my hormones have calmed down. but I still watch it because I never know if I have to go back on medication.

Not changing the meds. Just taking them like I am suppose to.

I stopped after the procedure since my BP was lower. Now that it is back up I will do as the Dr ordered and take them.

maybe you should just go to the dr considering you just had surgery...get their opinion.

Talked it over with Hubby, if I am still swollen in the AM I will go straight to the PCP.

A 10 pound weight gain with water retension in a short amount of time is considered excessive.

What is your pressure without medication? High diastolic ( bottom number) is what most cardio's tend to watch more than the systolic. Diastolic is how flexable your ateries are, this is the number they watch because when it goes high is when people can stroke or have a heart attack. You never want it over 80 in a regular basis.

Mine was always around 90, thus the need for the meds. After surgery it was in the 70's until last night. Then back up to 88 so I started taking my BP meds again this morning as prescribed.

That's just borderline. my highest was 110.

no idea why, not overweight and very active. But I have a bad family history on both sides with hypertension and heart disease. So I have a bad gene apparently.

I know, 10 pounds in such a short amount of time is alarming. Edema like that could be a sign of Congestive heart failure. Which concerns me about this procedure. Was holly's stroke a complication from this procedure?
