SWI Spine

Post by Rokkit »

I've searched but haven't found any info on whether the SWI MRI technique has been used to identify iron in the spine. Everything I've found is about the brain. Has anyone run across anything?

This technique "•Assess iron and calcium deposits in tissue". Most likely the brain, but maybe it can also be used on the spine; nothing explicitly excludes it on the web site as far as I can read. Send them an email?

A couple of us, post-stenters, will be getting tested in a couple of weeks and we specifically asked about spinal testing. They said they have not focused on it but have no problem doing it.
