Thanks Bruce,
So, I take it no MRV is done at all? (Is that like an MRI?)
Also, I know they do a test the day after the procedure. Is that the doppler ultrasound as well?
Thanks

It's good to have some of these pieces put together.

The process started with the app't date. First came the MRV in June and discussion of results with Dr. S., then a month later the balloon angioplasty..Three months after that..the follow up ultrasound.
Has the protocol up at Community Care changed since?

Great list Bobbi. As you have on there, we go on Dec. 14th. I'm pretty excited, but actually at this point it's to spend some time with my husband without the kids and possibly have something wonderful happen.
I'm kind of feeling that some of the air has been let out of the balloon since there doesn't seem to be a barrage of success stories lately. I haven't told my husband many of the stories that I've read on here because I don't want him to get his hopes up.
All in all though, it seems reasonable for him to try this based on (i) anecdotal reports, (ii) there is no drug to claim to help him (he has PPMS), and (iii) it is certain that he is progressing.
Good luck to everyone!

Hi Bobbi, Thank-you for gathering all of that time-line information! It makes me feel better that the wait time seems to be on track.

TFau ...... Don't dismay. In the last week I have heard of 6 testimonials about people living in my area having the procedure done with great results.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your husband as you prepare for this important step in your health.
Cheers, Phyllis

I'm going to guess that "belsadie" is an American that lives close to Albany. This is not the process for people flying in to have the procedure.

Thank you Phyllis (Bobbi).
It is accually my wife that will be treated in Albany on Dec. 1st. She doesn't spend any time on line so I'm the mouthpiece here on TIMS.
Your list of appointment dates is great. Many people get confussed when they start reading here because of the differance in the appointment dates of the people with insurance (Americans) and the list for those without insurance (Canadians and others). I noticed that our information wasn't on your list.
Canadian
called to get on the list May 26
Recieved appointment call on Oct. 18
Appoimtment date is Dec. 1
Hang in there. The longer you wait the more answers they will have and the more likley your procedure will be a success.
Bruce.

Thanks Bruce and Sandra ... I needed a layout that I could easily track.
Bruce, your wife's data is on the same line as Shueywho.
I'm also trying to keep this thread on page one of the forum.
Cheers, Phyllis

Just a short update.
My wife got a call from Dr. Englander last evening. Her appointment is Dec. 1st and the doctor was calling to answer any questions we had and to ask my wife about what MS symptoms she suffers from and what medications she is on.
Dr. Englander was very nice and very reasuring. She has done over 200 of these procedures. Her phone call helped put my wife at ease.
