Hello Poet,
Thanks for the compliment.

Civickiller,
It's not unusual to go three months without improvement and you don't necessarily need new x-rays.

As an aside, I was just contacted by a radiologist who found my website and bought my book. He asked if I would be interested in collaborating on future research as well as doing a webinar this month for neuros and neurosurgeons. Here is some of what he had to say.

"A year or so ago ... we had been doing research with positional Upright MRI imaging and CSF flow measurements. We had become interested in investigating migraine headaches, Chiari, CSF and other neurological diseases. In 2009, JAMA published a review on “The Chiari Conundrum”, that focused our thoughts on the possible interrelationships between the structural and functional anatomy depicted by Upright MRI of the cervico-occipital junction ... I had been collecting a series of MRI findings on patients with the seemly unrelated , varied and disparate, neurological maladies of migraine headaches, NPH, MS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer disease, when a single thread of connection became apparent; CSF flow disturbance ... I did a cursory investigation of the literature and proposed “The unifying concept of CSF – Cerebellar Ectopia” (note: CTE is another term for a Chiari malformation) in my lengthy but “rudimentary “editorial for a generalized audience of orthopedic medicine specialists (not orthopedic surgeons). This initial “gathering” of my thoughts is obviously naive compared to your level of experience, originality, understanding and explanation of the theory, but I include the editorial for your perusal and consideration, and I look forward to your comments ... The articles on your website demonstrate clearly that you have the most complete understanding and explanation of this concept (and I look forward to reading your book once it arrives), and we would like to propose that we collaborate pertaining to our previous, existing and ongoing research in this critical area of neurological sciences."

It get's even better but I won't tell you the punch line just yet. Needless to say, I said I would be happy to collaborate. I have much more to contribute and radiologists have some really cool toys to test my theories.

Sry, David, I have to get better with introductions.
My name is Pam. I figured out who you are from your comment in this thread and your comments on the Fb page. :)

The last chapter in my book addresses Dr. Falk's radiator theory. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter whether it was due to improved blood flow or enhanced cooling capacity, the exponential growth of modern human intelligence in the last ten thousand years, can't be explained in terms of classic Darwinian evolution. Evolution is slow. Rapid changes can only occur through genetic mutation or manipulation. The last chapter also covers zero gravity and sluggish CSF flow. The worst cases of Alzheimer's are associated with sluggish, stagnant low CSF flow. I suspect that astronauts become hydrocephalic in space. If human children were born in space in the future they would require cranial orthotics to control their head shape and size. The indigenous people of Peru and Bolivia may have been likewise trying to control head size due to hydrocephalus by using cranial banding, which resulted in significant artificial skull deformation.

It's a bit lengthy but for those of you who are interested, I cover shape, size, deformation and correction of infant skulls on my website.

hi dr. flanagan, congradulations on everything going on for you. sounds like e some very exciteing things are in store for you. OR BETTER PUT-the world has some exciteing things in store for it with you getting more in the playing field.

my rehab was more than disappointing. so as soon i get it together better here i will as i said need your opinion.

this is a crazy question i know, but you talk about the different shapes of heads like african, chinese etc. with so many intermarriages and mixing of races - would the shape of one's head take on a kinda mixed shape? just as say oriental eye shape usually is less pronounced when mixed with another race. or texture of hair and facial features etc. even bone structure. i am somewhat of a multi cultural mutt myself, predominately english irish scottish "as far as i know" if great great great grandpa and ancestors were honest in their homelife.

but what i'm getting at is i know say with any pets i've had it seemed mutts compared to a breed of dog seemed healthier. but, the mutt may have the bulldog head and the beagle neck and shoulder thing going on.

in a reverse way is it possible that we as humans hurt ourselves somehow by intermarrying and becoming too diverse and changing of certain body parts such as bone structure etc. make us more susceptible to diseases that especially involve the shape of the head or spinal fluid flow or even blood flow. these questions are nuts i know but thought it might be interesting. at one time certain races in america had less ms etc.

i know my little multi cultural mutt body was just fine until i had the trauma.
if my question is too far fetched and you tactfully skip it i am not offended.

Thanks for the compliment Nigel.

Hello Blossom,
It's nice to hear from you. Heads do take on different shapes according to racial mixing. English, Irish and Scottish people, however, are all from the European race. Me mum was one hundred percent British. She crossed the pond when she was eleven. The Bass is on the bottom and the Guiness is on top. My father's side of the family were Black Irish but that's another story.

We tend to hurt ourselves more by close inbreeding than mixing. It depends on the size of the genetic pool. Larger genetic pools tend to decrease the likelihood of inherited flaws being passed on and perpetuated.

actually now that i was talking about UCC with a friend. I actually hadnt felt any kind of improvement since January or February'11 so about 6,7 months ago. rexray? But please i dont want you to think, hmm he said 3 mnths but now 6 mnths, what will be nnext 9 mnths lol.

On my desire to make Upper Cervical Care mainstream with everyone knowing and getting UCC, I posted a few links on Dr. Hubbards Foundation fb page. now will he read it? I dont know, Im worried about him not looking into UCC because of his association with CCSVI. Yeah you might say but he looked into CCSVI, why wouldnt he look into UCC because he has a vested interest in CCSVI, but wouldnt with UCC. maybe i need to go higher.

everyone please go on Hubbards Foundation fb page and like my link or post on your own on his wall. Just like with CCSVI, it got bigger because the people demanded it.

Hi Civic, I gave Arlene Hubbard the links to Dr. F's sites and had several discussions with her back then (about a year ago). She and David were very understanding of the spine involvement and were following it up with others on the team. How all that has panned out I do not know.
The push again now will be timely in my opinion.
The Hubbard work with Dr. Haacke is likely to be the most logical to assess flow quantification. I believe Dr. F has been in discussion direct with Dr. Haacke as well so time ago.
There are also others doing research on atlas alignment and BP as well as other disease changes when alignment is performed, Dr Dickholtz has spoken about his work in this field. I haven't followed up on Dr. D's work as yet, but sounds like he is going to approach this with some accurate assessments that will stand rigorous scrutiny from the doubters in the 'medical world'.

Has anyone been treated by Dr. Dickholtz?

There are many videos your can view from this link on Dr. D's work in research;

Regards all,
Nigel

I like the fact that they got some facts about UCC but i still think we need more people messaging Dr's about UCC and their experiences. Peoples voices are strong, we need more voices, 1 or 2 arent as big as 1000 or 2000 people

Hello Civickiller
You may be reaching a point of maximum improvement. If you haven't had a post x-ray yet it may be a good time to get one. Discuss it with your doctor.

Is it possible to reach max improvement when im not feeling anywhere near as good as i did at one point? Its not that i just got so used to it but dont realize it.

I did talk with the Dr. yesterday and he said he would rexray me but i wanted a second opinion on the whole situation

thanks Dr. F

Civic, in my opinion the only way you are going to know that there has been improvement in the alignment is to have the xrays. From my experience there will be some people who are corrected and some who won't be. Whether that is skill level of the operator or difficulty of the mis-alignment, who knows. Any resistance by the Chiropractor would concern me, they should be there for your best care, if they are not able to help anyone they should be up front and help find someone who can help.
