Is anybody else due out there soon to ask him??

He certainly HAS NOT asked for money upfront.

Pepe - thanks, that info is really helpful.

It is perfectly possible to fake a sender email address. It appears in cleartext in the header of the message code. The best way to confirm that the email is real is to reply asking for confirmation (the reply will go to the sender address even if the mail came from somewhere else).

I would suggest calling the clinic to confirm these scheduling/cost issues. I can find the number tomorrow or maybe someone else can post it again. Brynn

I spoke by phone with Dr S yesterday, and he confirmed that the email was genuine...he is trying to leave the administration side to others...Marta Cyba is now the Patient Coordinator who is sending the emails...I received another clarification yesterday, part of which stated:

The payment should be performed before arrival (please include your name in the topic of the payment) or upon arrival.

which appears to give us the option of paying when we arrive. One advantage of this new arrangement will be that transportation from the airport, either Katowice or Krakow, to the hotel, as well as transportation to the medical facilities is included, which makes life easier. Five days accommodation at the Park Diament hotel is included;

It has been a bolt out of the blue to find my appointment changed from August to less than two weeks hence, may others also have the same good fortune. All the previous trailblazers who have received the treatment from Dr S (especially Erika, unstinting in her support) have given me tremendous info to prepare myself...and I will keep everyone aware of how things proceed.

Fantastic, Richard! That sounds like they are trying to put a bit of a system in place for those of us coming from quite a long way away! Trust me, I was just as shocked when he emailed me offering my spot last week! It was a far cry from September! I think everyone should get their travel affairs in order and bee ready. The Simka team might find themselves proceeding faster than they had anticipated, too, with the ability to move up more appointments! My CD of my surgery had #51/2010 written on it, so I would guess that maybe they have done 51 patients so far this month as od Jan 21st! :)

Thanks Brynn...If they have done 51 ops this year, they must be very busy and in need of good organisation..I will ask Dr S what his stats have been so far.... We also are going on Lufthansa, on travel points, and in Business...all I need now is to show my wife how to play Blackjack and she can clean up at the Casino while I get my veins straightened out.

Cheers

Richardk - if I have missed this somewhere then I apologise - what is the new cost? I'm only going for the diagnostics but if I have a problem with my Vascular Surgeon here I'd like to go back to Poland, thanks.
