Zamboni had an idea...from that idea there have been lots of spin offs... different ways of treating and diagnosing etc. Each Dr is taking the idea and taking it where they feel it needs to go.
Surely Prof Z doesn't have to defend or agree with all these new developments?? He just has to stand by his studies and his theories.

I just want to put my 2 cents worth in on this conversation. Could it possibly be that Dr Zamboni spends all his time doing science and attending conferences and being a doctor and NOT sitting at a computer looking for unhappy MS patients ? I think his comments on the CTV W5 documentary and the one newspaper article are very thoughtful and he fervently wants CCSVI to be tested by many scientists for OUR benefit. Dr Zamboni is not a politician. But he has also been criticized for calling his procedure "The Liberation Treatment" as being to flashy !! He is NOT Dr OZ for heaven's sake. Let the guy to what he wants to do. He has a lot at stake, his whole reputation as a doctor and a scientist. Take a look at the guy. He has a neurological disorder. He trained as a surgeon and can't do it anymore. He is not superman he is just a human being like you or I (well he is a lot smarter than I am, LOL). Just think of Dr Schelling and how he was ridiculed back in the 80s. Rant rant rant rant rant rant.....

I know that this doesn't address all of the issues brought up in this thread, but I wanted to mention that Prof. Zamboni was mentioned in a CTV news story that came out when the Buffalo results were announced:
Zamboni contends that angioplasty surgery on these blocked veins, a procedure he calls the Liberation Treatment, can then open the veins and reduce or halt MS symptoms in patients.
Reached by phone in the U.S where he is attending scientific meetings, Zamboni said he is heartened by Zivadinov's team's findings.
You can find the link for the full story here (look for 'CTV News' in the first post):

Hope that helps-

Also I just wanted to say to Johnson;
If the possibility of your diaper
being changed doesn't get you emotionally involved
there's something wrong with you, personally, it scares me big time. I hope that never happens but if it does, message me, I'd like to know how your "responsibility to self" is holding up.
Slap your therapist.

Chris, I'm not sure what you mean there. I was not writing about diapers, I was writing of not being emotionally wrapped up in the treatment - thinking that it is a cure that is going to save everyone, including me. What if it isn't?
Slap my therapist? Do you mean my physiotherapist? Speech Therapist? Psychotherapist? Actually, I have no therapists, I self-medicate, meditate, ruminate, etc. Oh, I get it. You were casting another of them thar ad hominim aspersions.
I am just as emotionally affected as anyone who is afflicted with any dis-ease. My life changed for the worse, as everyone's did. There is no cure, and was no effective treatment that didn't come with a host of other problems. Biogen, or the others, don't write in here to tell us what they are up to, and they take billions of dollars from us collectively. Dr. Zamboni is only responsible to me if he is treating me.
You come across as being bitter because you lash out. Perhaps a more moderated approach would get you farther. That is the responsibility that I was writing of. We do have societal responsibility, even if we are messed up. Lashing out at those who try to help us is uncalled for. It's our disease, not theirs. I consider myself lucky to have a small handful of people who do care.
If you have a lot of time on your hands, like I do, I think that you might get a lot from some of the videos on this site -
consciousmedianetwork.com. There are some very erudite people being interviewed, and some beautiful philosophies. Just scroll down the page a bit to the free interviews, you don't have to be a member to see the archives.

i have taken and do tske the same things drug-wise and yes am continuing to progress at a pretty rapid rate-will be 34 this summer, have been in a wheelchair since 26. I am cautiously optimistic about Zamboni. I'm not going to trash his efforts, this needs to play out, there are tests going to be conducted world wide. Maybe look at zamboni the same way. There is a glimmer of hope here, Buffalo is going further with more studies to be conducted in the future, and so the work continues on, it doesn't stop at 55% findings as was released to the press. What I'm saying is it seems as though the are on to SOMETHING, but they must continue to investigate. Don't loose hope, I haven't, though, yeah, some days it is hard. Let hope float not sink, bc it really hasn't sunk here.

MODERTORS- Isn't this the type of post that should be deleted? it serves absolutely no education, informative or even entertainment (except to make fun of the writer) purpose.
It's sole purpose is to flame someone, the thread should be deleted.
Grow some and do it!

come on now ....let's not get bent out of shape because someone offers an opinion we find distasteful .
How about providing the confused or frustrated poster with some examples of the actual work the good doctor has given us.
The whole CCSVI story is amazing . But you have to start reading chapter one to
get it
Then progress with the story as it has unfolded. It is truly amazing.

I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt until this post. It's classic...make inflammatory statements, sit back and enjoy the reaction, then post again with insults for anyone who fell for it.

Pompous Windbag,
At the risk of encouraging you to feel disparaged (again), let me delicately suggest you try a little less eloquence and a bit more relevance when chiming in on a thread.
And if your going to quote an author, such as D.H. Lawrence, be sure the quote is relevant to to the subject.
Example:
"Be still when you have nothing to say; when genuine passion moves you, say what you've got to say, and say it hot."
~ D.H. Lawrence
