CCSVI in the UK

I am 41 with 7 year old twin boys & very ready to do what I can to give me some hope of life with MS. CCSVI seems to good to be true & I realise there may be risks but as an otherwise fit & healthy young woman the risks have got to be worthwhile. All I need is legal professionals who can carry out the investigations into whether my significant vein is blocked enough to seek out the drainage options. Cost is important but I am willing to travel in the UK.

The Essential Health Clinic is currently registering people who would like to have scanning for CCSVI, and are hoping to start the actual scanning in the Spring.

First UK Clinic soon to offer CCSVI testing starts registration

Glasgow Health Solutions are actively seeking to offer scanning for CCSVI in the UK in 2010 in both London and Glasgow.

The Doppler ultrasound scan required to show the CCSVI abnormalities has been specially adapted and requires specialist training from Prof Zamboni and his team. It is vital to work with the recognised specialists in this field and they hope to have ultrasound technician trained by Dr Zamboni later this year.

The cost of the scans in the UK is still to be finalized but should be around 250 to 300 pounds. They are also liasing with intervention radiologists to develop treatment centres in the UK.

Thanks Squiffy Keep us updated on this Offering the special doppler is a great step forward already ! Not sure to understand from this, that logical step of angiography and intervention can follow at this clinic? So maybe the other article misunderstood it?

I for one, assuredly won't be going to any clinic, private or otherwise, because I have gone longer than anyone treated by Zamboni, seven years come August, without having any relapse. In that time I have done nothing but improve and all for the cost of a few thousand pounds.

Before I started abx was getting worse by the day and my neuro told my husband that he would have to son "make arrangements" for me.

Hi Zeureka,

This is why scanning is not already underway as the ultrasonographer is being trained to the Zamboni Protocols to ensure that the clinic's testing is identical to Dr Zamboni's.

Will update all via both the MSRC's CCSVI pages and here as an when we hear anymore.
