Help!

I would be grateful for information. I'm about to go for an ultrasound and maybe and MRI/V to assess for CCSVI in early April. There's some uncertainty about whether I need the MRI/V..........and I have been told by the professor's receptionist to take an ultrasound only. Which is best? I'm getting confused :?: . Thanks Smokey.

smokey,

My ultrasound showed an abnormality in my left jugular (and elsewhere!), but they coudn't determine the exact nature of what was going on and even put in the report that the MRV may shed some more light on it. The MRV (which was on the same day) did indeed show a significant stenosis at that point. BOTH reports, though, said the final determination will come at venography.

If you don't have travel expenses, I suggest you start with the ultrasound. If travel is involved, I would get both at once.

Good luck!

Sandra

Thanks

Thanks so much for the advice.

It's really helpful to be in touch with others who have been down the same path - it's a very uncertain path at times. I don't have to travel but might just have both done at the same time because time is a bit of an issue.
